This is like the ultimate Friday tease. Come to HoyaTalk to see any news. See a "new" name (or more accurately, I am exhausted and so forgot that he was the Kuwaiti walk on) and thought we got a new commit. I truly know nothing about Asad, so I'll wait to judge, but generally walk ons and "starter" don't go together. But you occasionally find people like Jon Wallace who start out as walk ons and surprise. Wallace is my all time favorite hoya. If Asad is half the player I’d be thrilled

I’ll have what he’s having…. Don't do it 'vad. At our age we have already lost enough brain cells, no need to dabble in substances that will obliterate more. I'm with Elvado, just like Rob Reiner's mother in When Harry Met Sally.

What do we know about Asad? Is there any video of him? What's the level of play in the Kuwaiti AAU haha?
For me, I'm intrigued. I don't know what the process is for walk-ons, but he's got to have a lot of confidence to think he can come here and make the team. More likely it has been communicated to him that the conditions are favorable for him to make the team. Maybe that's where the last scholly will go?
Also, I'm really excited to see Cooley make a team out of these pieces. It will be fun to be competitive again in the BE. I want our Hoyas to have that hard-nosed, tough, intimidating thing about them again.

If any guy on the team who hasn't played a minute of college basketball is going to start at point guard it is most definitely going to be Rowan.

He can shoot the three and pick and roll. The level of play of the Kuwaiti team is that they got absolutely BTFO by Japan in the Asian championships 98-33. Fingers crossed he'll be a good practice player. If they spend a scholarship on this kid I go from #1 Ed Cooley fan to hoyaboya disciple.

Any truth to the rumors that the College of Arts & Sciences will be named the Asad College of Arts & Sciences this year?

Some don't understand how good he is and can become - Rowan

Does George Santos have any eligibility left? I'm sure he could be our starting point guard, or at a minimum claim that he has been.

It seems clear this young man is committed to Georgetown.
Is there any evidence Georgetown is committed to him?

It seems clear this young man is committed to Georgetown. Is there any evidence Georgetown is committed to him? I mean, we think he's a walk on, right? Why does anyone think it's more than that? His Dad is a Kuwaiti oil engineer and his other option was UMass Boston. People need to pump their brakes - walk ons today are announcing on social media and pumping out commitment edits. I watched a little of the video and the level of play makes whatever league Gate City was in look like the NBA. He's not Jon Wallace.

Yes assumed by most he's a walk on and I think again most on the board doesn't think it's anything beyond that. He will get a degree from Gtown and looks like a great kid for practice. Prefect fit from that perspective...
