Seems strange that it's always only Ewing's kids who don't listen. Shaka's kids seem to listen well....Cooley's kids seem to listen......Matta's kids listened pretty well when they beat us by 30.....even in other conferences, there are multiple examples of kids who listen. If only the person in charge of bringing in players to Georgetown could get guys that would listen to Ewing. Maybe that's the person who needs to go! EXACTLY! You've got to find the kids that will work with your system. Pat has never been able to identify that. With that being said, why wouldn't he have left after last year? It was clear as day he can't or isn't connecting and has never built out a roster. I honestly think this thing was over the day Gardner, LeBlanc, Alexander & company torpedoed the season & roster. That was a wrap on coach Pat.

His system is kind of like the chicken’s system right after its head is lopped off…

Patrick Ewing has really never had a discernable system. On defense, the best description of our system I can come with is "extremely bad man-to-man."
On offense, it's unclear what system we have. Clearly, Ewing wants us to move (as indicated by his shouting), but the team hasn't excelled in doing that much over 6 years. At the beginning of his tenure, he used some NBA plays, etc. but now even that's by the wayside.
If Patrick Ewing had a well defined system and failed to recruit it to, fine. But he has no identifiable system. A lot of times the announcers, commentators, or journalists will say Ewing uses an "NBA" system but that's really nonsense used for commentary. There's no coach in the NBA that would run a defense or offense like we do.

On defense, Pat’s system is kind of a “man-to-man but leave your man and double the player with the ball then sprint back when the ball is passed to your man who is wide open and already shooting the 3” defense mixed with the “play your slow center too high and watch smart offenses get dunks behind him” defense. It’s truly special… On offense, it’s just “my turn” offense sprinkled with “long 2FGAs”.

I love Patrick, but his "system" is dribble, dribble, dribble, jack it up...
