We’re taking the “L” on this one. Everyone go enjoy your Valentine’s Day rather than watch the dumpster fire.

Since we played last, they are 5-3 and have gotten better. We have brought back Jay Heath but haven't gotten any better on offense or defense. They are fighting for a spot in the NCAA field and a loss to us would kill them. I think their D outweights our crappy O.

Funny how Ewing kept saying "health" was one of the things holding this team back. Well, Murray has been back for a while now, and Heath has been back for 4 games now (I think), and the team still sucks! I hesitated for a long time in joining the "Ewing can't coach" brigade, but it's painfully obvious now, that he really can't coach. I expect the defense to be bad, real bad (and it is), but the offense is painful to watch as well this year. There's talent, but we can't run a play to get a player open to save of our lives, especially for a 3-point look --- which is a must in today's game.

To go further on our porous offense...
Is it just me, or does our pick and roll offense resemble a dumpster fire? We send a player up to set the pick, but the pick is always some lazy one, that does nothing to create Primo space. It doesn't create a driving lane to draw the defenders of their man. And we do it over and over and over again. This isn't just this year too. How does Pat watch this, and do nothing about it? It's unreal. Other teams do it so successfully. The pick sticks our man, and it leaves the PG open for a three, or a driving lane which creates all kinds of confusion (especially against our joke of a D). Yet, somehow, we're lucky to run one successful P&R a game. It wouldn't be so tragic if we had other offensive plays that we run, but we don't. 9/10 times, we dribble the ball into the floor, call for a pick and roll with 10 seconds left in the clock, it does nothing and we take a contested long 2. BAD COACHING!

First, there is a very good chance we play Seton Hall in the BET on March 8, given that we are almost certainly locked into 11th place barring some major unlikely turnaround (not going to happen). Unless Connecticut falters, Seton Hall is likely to finish 6th. So, we will likely play them 3 times this year.
Seton Hall is projected to be about a 90% favorite over us tomorrow. Holloway has coached this Seton Hall team into a close to elite defensive team - ranked 15th nationally compared to our 246. Holloway's team has struggled on offense, though (ranked 153). That said, because our defense is so bad, I have a feeling that Seton Hall will find their buckets and opportunities to score.
Seton Hall doesn't shoot threes well at all, nor do they shoot twos well either. They do draw a lot of free throws though (26th most in Division 1), even though they only shoot 67.3% on them.
Basically, this is much like any other game. If we shoot lights out AND Seton Hall has a rough night on offense AND if Seton Hall is uncharacteristically bad on defense AND if our defense is better than usual, we might have a chance. But this is really one of those games where essentially everything needs to go right for us to even have a chance to win.

Current line 12.5 and o/u 138. So sad that it’s not necessary to even identify who is favored — against freakin’ Seton Hall! At least one site indicates line started at 13.5, so lotsa folks apparently liking Hoyas to cover…

BAD COACHING! It’s like Wahab or whoever’s playing center is just going through the motions of setting the pick and then half-heartedly rolling to the basket. I bet I could count on one hand the number of times the roller actually scored a layup or dunk off a Georgetown pick and roll in the past six years.

We play like we don’t practice. Like it’s a pick up game. Guards on the perimeter looking to take their man off the dribble. Need a coach

Need a coach I have truly wondered what we do in practices, because whatever it is, it must not work. What's more flummoxing is that clearly others associated with the program have run practice with teams that are clearly beter than what Ewing puts out there (for example, Orr as a head coach, or Nickelberry being part of practices at LSU). It's very clear that Ewing is not a skilled teacher.

Boy, I'd like to see Akok as part of a well-coached defense.....he could really be something.

We are incapable of making the wide open threes that we only rarely create.

Our pick and roll doesn’t work like that. Ever.
