This meet takes place tomorrow and Saturday. Lots of Hoyas running the 800m and mile. The seed times for the mile have five men under 4 minutes. Some professionals are running too, so it seems as if the races will be fast.

4 runners under 4:00 in the mile and monster times for Rizzo and Teffra, especially for so early in the season. The fastest time at last year's indoor NCAA championships was 3:57.04 for comparison's sake!

The women move up two places to #8 in the regional rankings. The men move up 10 places to also #8 in the region.
The women move up 13 slots to #81 in the national rankings.The men move up 19 places to #72.
The women are #17 in the mile (top 4 squad) and 57th in the 400m (not enough runners for the squad event in the 800m)
The men are 4th in the nation in the mile squad event behind UW, OK State, and Stanford). The men are #12 in the 800m.

This is interesting: Due to budget cuts made within Marquette Athletics, the tennis and track & field programs will be taken down to non-scholarship programs by the 2025-26 academic year.
The Golden Eagles' track and field teams are still expected to compete within the BIG East conference as varsity sports. Scholarships for those rosters, however, will be non-existent by the 2025-26 academic calendar.
