Is February when the "regular season" starts now? Or are you thinking that the "all-star break" will help refocus our coaching staff? I should hope that a game against a preseason top 10 team on a 4 game winning streak followed by three versus top 25 teams would refocus the fans, that's for sure. We are where we are, but no matter where we were coming in to this stretch, this here is what it's all about. I live for this stuff.. GO HOYAS!!! Just when I thought I was out, Miracles pulls me back in. "We are where we are..." says all you need to know about this poster. He is not interested in how we got here or how to fix it, and that's what separates him from nearly everyone here. Miracles is this Board's Nero.

I am the dude playing music on the Titanic, sheesh. I would never be involved with something so pointless and negative as the mania on this board, the dozen or so sad cases who spend their days wailing and crying and shaking their bony fists at some imagined presence in the sky. What a pathetic waste of time! This is basketball season, in case you have been too busy reading the mess here on Hoyatalk to notice. There are actual games being played by students at Georgetown University. Basketball! Fun! Sports! Life! THAT is what I am interested in, not the ravings of a bunch of people who have given up, and given in to the worst impulses of the new online world...

If we had a top 25 team, then yes this next stretch would be extremely exciting. But when we have a 200+ team that has little realistic chance of winning any of the games, it becomes much less fun. I don't understand how one can be excited for games against teams that are going to destroy us. To me, playing these good teams is depressing because it shows how far we have fallen, and how hopeless our situation is now. I will still watch and root for the guys, for sure, but it's hard to get excited about anything relating to our program at the moment.

So you believe Gtown hoops is doomed to be a bottom dweller hat will never rise again? We just have to accept that there is a very small portion of the fanbase who have different priorities than the rest of us. For this minority of the fanbase, the most important thing is that someone "in the family" has to be running the program first - like Patrick and Ronny. These fans have what they want right now, so it's easy for them to still enjoy the team, despite the losing. They'd still like to win, but only if the family is leading it. I don't understand these people at all, but they're out there, for now. Once G-town cans Ewing and Ronny, they'll probably be gone.

There is a minority on this board that wants the student athletes on this Georgetown team to have as much success as possible and root for them to win each game. We are very unhappy with the results that Ewing has delivered and at least some of us hopes the school makes a coaching change. But we will never hope the team loses and who ever the coach is next year, we will root for Georgetown every game. This is currently not a popular position with many members of the board, but as fans we choose to continue to root for the team even as significant underdogs. We enjoy talking about the highlights of each game.
My only disagreement with the majority of members on this board is that we have multiple active discussions about coaching changes and status of Georgetown basketball. Why can’t we have one discussion about the game about to be played and after it is played that is just about the tactics and performances of both teams in that game and not take over that discussion with post on why Ewing should resign now, who his replace at should be, and criticism of the administration AF Georgetown for the current state of the basketball program. Those are valid topics and many good points have been raised on each. But repeating them over and over adds little value and, in my opinion, any influence this board can have on future decisions regarding Georgetown basketball has already been made.
I just would like one discussion to be about the game about to be played and continuing through after it was played. The entire rest of the board can be be all about the issues and ways to address those issues.

I thought that after this post you would be participating heavily in the Creighton game thread. It only has five pages.
