Thought I'd start the conversation with this tidbit: In addition to the other streak stuff we all know about, with a Depaul win Tuesday, the Blue Demons and Hoyas will be tied for fewest regular season wins in the Big East in the Ewing era (Hoyas started the season 4 wins ahead). Blue Demons also currently up two in head to head games in that time with the Hoyas, and would stretch that to three ahead.

I hope DePaul pulls off a repeat of March 6, 2019. IMO, that was the day it was clear that Ewing would never be successful so why not have loss #30 be a repeat of that day.

I remember the days when DePaul/Georgetown was a major game in the college basketball landscape. How things have changed!

DePaul at home Tuesday is our best chance for a W. If we lose, 0-20 is a real outcome.

I remember the days when DePaul/Georgetown was a major game in the college basketball landscape. How things have changed! Patrick Ewing has taken us to the Bizarro World. As a player, GU-DePaul was 1 vs 2 nationally. As a Coach it is 9 v 11 in the Big East. A player who lost 23 games in 4 years has lost 29 straight conference games as a coach and has not beaten a high major in well over a year. Shocking.

I think you win Sunday against St. John's quite honestly to stop the streak, DePaul seems like a better team than past years and St. John's plays some pretty bad basketball at times. On Friday night, It really felt like St. John's played poorly enough to lose to Villanova.

Early line is DePaul by 1.5 and o/u 149 A few hours later it seems the consensus is more like DePaul by 3 to 3/12, with an o/u of 147.5. Don’t think the line moved as much as the early one is just an outlier. The 3 to 31/2 point spread seems much more on the money (so to speak) to what the eye test lately would say… Tuesday morning update: “consensus” now seems to be 2. But different sites all over the place, so as Smokey would say “you better shop around…” (Some Boomer humor there…)

Another thing to keep an eye on tonight is attendance/should be a great barometer of actual interest by The Faithful these days. Reasonable start time (7pm) in a game we have a good chance to win (but of course that means foe is terrible, so maybe cuts against?), and early in semester so students back and without exams to worry over. And visiting team attendance should be minimal. I’m thinking 2500 actually in building with announced about 4500…

Break the STREAK!!!

This has to be the ideal game to end the streak, right? The rest of the schedule looks challenging.

Our next best odds are 20% against St. John's at home. KenPom is projecting we will go 1-19. If we don't win tonight, 0-20 becomes much more likely.

Without Heath and Murray - Riley and Bristol keep putting up the numbers please. IN addition to numbers, please play some D. We lost to them the last game because the kid was shooting 30 footers without anybody around. Maybe we read the scouting report this time and realize who to guard.

Is it confirmed that Murray is still out?

Without Heath and Murray - Riley and Bristol keep putting up the numbers please. Our offense is really largely irrelevant if we cannot defend even remotely well (and we haven't in any Big East game). While better than us, DePaul is similarly bad on offense (though still better than us), and bad on defense (though a good bit better than us). Though a few notes: - DePaul's offense is not good, but they shoot threes at 35.4% and that's good enough for 97th in the country. Given how our offense gives up open threes regularly, that's a recipe for DePaul to splash in a lot of easy threes. Gibson is a high volume three point shooter and shoots 39.4% and Javan Johnson also shoots a lot of threes at 41%. If either of them get hot, we are toast. - DePaul's defense isn't good, but their biggest weakness is they don't defend threes well. But, we aren't particularly good at making them. This favors DePaul. - We are among the highest percentages in taking twos (25th most). DePaul defends them not great, but not horrible, either. About average. - We don't foul much, but DePaul is excellent from the line, 78.2%, ranked 12th overall. So this is a battle of bad teams, but DePaul is a good bit better. The formula for us is for Gibson and Johnson especially (but really, all of DePaul) to have bad shooting games while we shoot extremely well. And even under those circumstances we might lose if we trade twos for threes or if we foul a lot and let DePaul get a lot of easy points.

Total number of Primo shots? Over/ under 25 (without Murray).
