I see a parallel between Niumatalolo's firing and Georgetown's firing of JT III. I think Navy will regret this move. I am unsure what coach can do any better within the constraints of recruiting for the Naval Academy. But I surmise that his firing was more the result of his recent record against Air Force and Army. AD Gladchuk apparently fired him in the locker room immediately after that loss to Army. Not classy. Over the past three years, however, Navy has gone 11-23. The Midshipmen have had one winning season in five years and went 4-10 combined against Army and Air Force over the past seven seasons. They have lost five of the past seven meetings with Army and have won the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy just once since 2016. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/12/11/navy-fires-ken-niumatalolo/

Navy's conference is about to get weaker and other teams are eventually going to stop having so many players with the extra covid years. Seems like a bad move.

Navy's coach should have kept his job and I'd argue that college coaches should never get fired midseason. I don't think it would be a good look to fire Ewing midseason.

Just venting again in another lost season unless there is an unforeseen and miracle turnaround.

Navy's conference is about to get weaker and other teams are eventually going to stop having so many players with the extra covid years. Seems like a bad move. The AAC loses Cincinnati (9-3 in 2022), Central Florida (9-4), and Houston (7-5) to the Big 12 after this season and picks up six schools from Conference USA. The new lineup in 2023 is considerably weaker. South Florida is the only remaining holdover from the pre-2013 Big East.
