MAGA GOP cultists = lying POS hyporites. Former president Donald Trump and Republican allies have long vilified mail-in voting and what is called ballot harvesting, alleging without presenting evidence that the practices are rife with fraud and encouraging Republicans to vote in person instead. “There is no way you can go through a mail-in vote without massive cheating,” Trump said in August 2020. “GET RID OF BALLOT HARVESTING!” he wrote in a Twitter message that same year, referring to entities in certain states that are authorized to collect ballots and deliver them to elections officials. But now, after disappointing election results in 2020 and 2022, Republicans close to Trump are seeking to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to build programs that would encourage some of the practices that the former president and other Republicans once decried, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post and interviews with GOP operatives involved in the programs. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/07/12/republicans-early-voting-mail/

The fact that the moron MAGA GOP invites *ucker Carlson to moderate its candidate forum in Iowa tells you all you need to know. A lying POS interviewing other liars is fitting. Vander Plaats, a Christian conservative leader and household name in Iowa Republican politics, has showered DeSantis with praise in interviews and on social media. Last fall, he declared DeSantis the midterms’ “HUGE winner” and former president Donald Trump the “HUGE loser.” More recently, he promoted polling showing DeSantis beating President Biden, praised Florida first lady Casey DeSantis’s new campaign initiative focused on moms and criticized Trump’s campaign choices, including his attacks on Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. Republicans in this first-in-the-nation caucus state and beyond have taken notice, with operatives in rival campaigns as well other strategists predicting an eventual endorsement of the governor from Vander Plaats, who “seems to be infatuated with Ron DeSantis,” opined Iowa-based Republican consultant Craig Robinson. Vander Plaats’s organization is set to host six presidential candidates at its Family Leadership Summit on Friday, with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson interviewing each of them. Reynolds, whom Trump publicly criticized on his Truth Social website this week, will be attending the event, where she’ll sign a six-week abortion ban. www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2023/07/14/trump-desantis-iowa-vander-plaats-presidential/

Family is a malleable concept. See e.g., Manson Family. 😃

How can the people sitting there keep from laughing in his face? They're being polite? It's not kind to laugh at those with special needs.

OTOH, POS McCarthy gives whackjobs like MTG, Gym Jordan and Goober Comer actual power in the "Republican" party/cult so I think they are actually representative of Elvado's party/cult. You don't see any support for RFK Jr's conspiracy theories supported by anyone in Democratic leadership. His views comport more closely with MAGA GOP cultists beliefs, a simple fact Elvado fails to grasp. Many of Kennedy's political positions — even beyond his skepticism of vaccines — are out of step with Democratic primary voters, including his opposition to US support for Ukraine, and his espoused views on transgender people and the origins of AIDS. But his unorthodox campaign has drawn interest and support from prominent, powerful figures, including Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and venture capitalist David Sacks. It's also a reminder of the fact that many Democratic voters say they'd like to see a nominee other than Biden, even if it's not Kennedy. Meanwhile, right-wing media and conservative influencers have been all too eager boost Kennedy's candidacy, giving him greater exposure to a predominantly Republican audience. That's certainly the case with some Republicans on Capitol Hill, who see Kennedy's candidacy as both a curiosity and an opportunity to score points against the other side. news.yahoo.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr-fans-175413927.html

He’s a Tulsi Gabbert Democrat. The difference being, of course, that the Democrats tend to push out whack jobs like Gabbard whereas the former Republican party rejoices in the fact that the craziest of the crazies run the show for them. Similarly, you'll see far more "Republicans" embracing RFK Jr. than Democrats. Just as misery loves company, it seems insanity does as well. www.nytimes.com/2023/06/28/us/politics/rfk-democrats-election.html#:~:text=prefer%20new%20blood.-,Mr.,and%2025%20percent%20of%20Democrats.

But what about AOC and her socialist cohorts in The Squad? They are so much worse that MTG, Lauren Bobert, Paul Gosar et al, right?

The “base” will definitely vote for this. They’re just too uninformed to know that they will be voting for it.
