US soccer legend Eric Wynalda’s daughter? Yes. Eric is married to Amy Ward, daughter of longtime (26 seasons and counting) Pepperdine coach Tim Ward, so Tatum is playing for her uncle.

As for the game itself: always extra frustrating to give up a result-changing goal in the final 10 minutes, but it was probably a fair result. Augur was forced to make a reaction save in the first half, doing just enough to deflect the ball off of the post and back to her (and almost did it again on the goal in the 2nd). The Waves deserved at least one goal for all their efforts.
Having said that, the Hoyas looked to have more of - and certainly more comfortable - possession in the first half, even if their opportunities were few and far between. They had a very strong run of play for 20 minutes or so of the second half, and it did feel like another goal was coming. Credit Pepperdine for managing to turn the tide (pun slightly intended)... but then, this is a program that was ranked in the top 10 at one point last season and has both a very well-established system (having a coach well into his third decade at the helm will do that) and some very good athletes to plug into that system. A draw on the road is a fair and respectable result.
Loyola Marymount is a different story. Assuming they get this game off before Hurricane Hilary hits, anything less than a multi-goal margin of victory would have to be considered an underperformance.

A bit disappointed in finishing Thursday but not a bad first game roadie against good competition. This will be the first tropical storm to hit SoCal in history. Everyone is going overboard in prep as we are not used to same and what to expect. I would not be surprised if the LMU game is not played due excessive concern and inability to anticipate what to expect on the left coast for such events. I suspect Floridians can have a good laugh over same. Expectations of a year's rain Sunday/Monday with 3 inches at the coast and 7 in the mountains. SoCal is not used to that, and you will hear of mud slides for sure if that happens. If it happens Beat the Lions.

Not quite the first in history (as both someone who grew up on the Gulf Coast and a former FEMA badge-holder, hurricane nerdery is kind of my thing), but ain't too many folks around who remember it. Thanks for the correction. I was but 2 yrs old with the last one. Haha. Our waters are still too cold for the Hurricane to hold its high numbers as it hits San Diego. The big problem is the ability of the soil to absorb the amount of rain it will get.
A lifelong Nor Cal guy, it took months of rain before slides, etc. happened, but we would watch first storm of the year cause flash flooding in Palm Springs, and cliff slippage in Laguna Beach.
Lived down here since 2004 and this may be the first August storm I recall (but don't check me on it). They are now talking about flights being cancelled into and outta here tomorrow and Monday. Nolan may have to herd cats for an extra day or two, game or no. game.

Would've wanted more, but we'll grade on a curve given the weather/travel situation, 10 am local kickoff time, etc.
Not to get too far ahead of ourselves here, but... it's really important to make a good show during the non-conference to get a higher seed and host a 2nd/3rd round pod (not that this is a guarantee of victory, of course, but every bit helps). To only lose once - and that to UVA - in the regular season last year, win the BET, and still have to go down to Tallahassee for the 2nd round is an indicator that we can't rely on the Big East to be rated highly by the tournament committee.

Need to finish and find the back of the net pretty soon. Bucknell has gone 2-0 with wins over St. Joseph's (4-0) and Geo Washington (3-1). Not able to see the game today, but does not seem we are generating and finishing as needed so far.
