This is interesting as Primo Spears used to play for the Hoyas and is transferring for the 4th time. Options appear to include a reunion with Brandon Murray at Ole Miss as well as Big East rivals St. John's and Providence.

Predicting that Primo will keep the streak of a different team every year until he hangs it up.

Options appear to include a reunion with Brandon Murray at Ole Miss as well as Big East rivals St. John's and Providence. I'd go with three of the top listed four as the most likely options. Beard at Ole Miss still has a toxic flag on him and there may be little competition there, but Murray and Spears didn't seem to get along well at the end of the Hoya season they had together (nobody and Spears seemed to get along, on a highly dysfunctional team that is saying a lot). Akok, Ryan, Heath, and Bristol seemed to be the ones who got along well and you'd see in Georgetown out hanging out together. GCU style may fit with their get out and run style of play, but they seem to lean to long players who pass well in transition, which has be thinking it may not quite fit with the others in the top four as possibles.

We might need to retitle this thread. I'll be honest, if you aren't with us for a majority of your college career, I'm not terribly interested in you nor will I look back fondly on your contributions to the university. Wayne Bristol is a Hoya. I don't care if he is taking advantage of his graduate year and transferred in to Gtown after a year. Ryan Mutombo will be a Hoya. Nobody from the 22/23 Hoyas outside of those two counts in my opinion. Wilson is the only one I count from the 21/22 season. I've got to go all the way back to the 20/21 season with Pickett & Blair as a pair of longer term Hoyas.
This is a sad state of affairs that not just Georgetown, but college basketball as a whole finds itself in. It makes the product much less enjoyable.

Though in principle I don’t love the practice, I would love to have this kid back. Not talking fit or role, just like him

I agree with you, but the original post / first few pages of the thread are about the many Ewing Era transfers / refugees and discussion of where they wound up. The title is / was somewhat tongue-in-cheek - the thread was less about true Hoyas and more about players who passed through. It was more interesting before the Cooley Era and the worst of the transfer era as transfers are now just part of the game.

Seems like he had a limited role at UVA. Is he looking to finish down a level with a ton or PT or does he want to stay at a HM and contribute where he can with the chance to excel…even in a limited role. So maybe come back to the Hilltop Dante; be the 3rd/4th guard off the bench, play some D and loose on O, and get that Gtown degree you started with.

Do any of these multi-transfer kids actually ever graduate? I mean do they really care about transferring credits and actually getting a degree from at least one of the schools they attended? I'd love to know what happens to these kids when they eventually enter the workforce.

I would imagine that many do not graduate, especially if they’re enrolled in weird “athlete majors” that not every school has, and thus the credits aren’t super portable.

In the pre-NIL era, I imagine that some but not all athletes pursued a degree meaningfully. Some athletes don’t prioritize it. Others may simply be unable to complete the rigorous coursework of a serious major and fulfill their athletic obligations. In this new era, I expect this only gets harder. I fear even fewer will end up with degrees.
