From a purely political standpoint, the reason Republicans did so poorly can be blamed on two things: 1. Donald Trump 2. The Supreme Court's decision on abortion

There was some criticism above about Florida gerrymandering, and there may be some truth to that, but I wonder. What we saw in the statewide elections last night were two wipe outs of epic, Gavin Newsom like proportions. Even Val Demmings, who I understand destroyed Rubio in their debate, got slaughtered by Little Marco who, let's face it, is not the world's most compelling candidate. So I think we have to conclude that Florida is no longer a swing state, even if voter suppression might have had an impact (but it can't be that much impact).

I am going to say my prayers for this tonight. While that will be one less piece of slime in the House, we still have MTG, Gaetz and Louie Gohmert, just to name 3. Still looking forward to Gaetz getting indicted for sex trafficking. Quoting myself to scratch Loony Louie (Loony Louie, whoa oh, you gotta go), who I learned this morning is leaving the House, and replacing him with Paul Gosar, another gem.

DeSantis won the Latino vote statewide, and completely flipped Miami-Dade County: 2016: Hillary by 30 points 2022: DeSantis by 11 points

Looks very likely that control of the senate will be decided by Nevada and that the GA runoff won’t be determinative.

It's almost as though people don't like their rights being messed with. Who knew? Odd that "Republicans" are very concerned about zygotes but they shudder at the thought of reducing the chances of mass shootings of fully formed humans. Everyone with half a brain knows that you need an assault weapon to kill a deer or a boar, amirite?
