Yes? No? Do you care? If so, how do you like either team's chances. I'm a Yankees fan. But, I don't think the Yankees can go anywhere but south from here (especially in next stretch of 18 games in 18 days) whereas the Mets should be getting stronger with guys coming off of the IL.

Between the two, Mets please. Plus, as a Nationals fan, I still root for Max Scherzer so go Mets over Yankees.

I’m a Yankee fan, but I haven’t been able to watch a ton this year due to two small children at home. But what I have seen has impressed me. I do think this team has the core construction that it needs to succeed, and with a couple of deadline upgrades to the obvious flaws, is a real World Series contender.
I haven’t watched the Mets at all but it sounds like they’re the real deal, and that Cohen will make the moves that he needs to to stay in contention. I personally would love a Subway Series, and in a scenario where the Mets make it and the Yankees don’t, would actually be rooting for Mets, if only for my many GU friends who are from Long Island and have suffered through one embarrassing Mets season after another for as long as I’ve known them.

I despise the idea of a subway series, primarily because, as a White Sox fan dating back to the late 1950's, I've always hated the Damn Yankees. I particularly hated them during the Steinbrenner days. If it comes to pass, I will absolutely be rooting for the Mets. I recall that during the last subway series a friend of mine (fellow Hoya) from New Jersey was astonished that I was not happy to see that. I guess he felt the entire world revolved around New York. I think both teams have a big shot this year, but I'll be pulling for the Dodgers and Cardinals over the Mets, and everybody over the Yankees.

As a Met fan of more than 50 years, I still fear the dropping of about 30 other shoes.
Check back in October…
