And congratulations to the men for the equally fine 2nd place finish

This is a little better than the basketball standings.
And I don't think any school in the BE is going to beat UConn in track and field. Their being a state school seems to give them a big advantage.

I guess Alton's vision of turning Georgetown into a sprinter school is coming true

Seems like just being able to put out competitors in all of the events (including vertical jumps and throws) is good for 50 points or more, and definitely helped UConn. A little similar to GU’s diving program providing the margin to win Big East swimming and diving championship this year.

In the Regional rankings the men remain #5 in the Mid-Atlantic region, and the women remain 8th. The women remain 4th in the Big East, although they were 3rd at the championship meet (replacing Marquette). The men remain 2nd, as they were at the meet. In the national rankings the women dropped 27 places to #82. The men only dropped two places to #43. Some of the other conferences had very fast results. The Big East did not have such good times, especially the temperatures were in the 90's. The only mark that added to the national rankings were Kiera Bothwell with her 10:04 run in the SC.
In the squad events the women the 800m dropped two places to #16, the 1500m down three to #16, and appearing for the first time the 5000m to #18 (probably more if the weather was cooler for those top four finishers. For the men in the squad event they remain 2nd in the 1500m, go up 3 places in the 800m at 9th, fell three places in the SC at 5th, and down two in the 10000m at #14.
