This is big news. Of all our guys in Kenner over the summer, liked him the best. He can do a bit of everything well. Most importantly, looking for him to provide some poise and leadership. I expect him to be in the starting lineup in short order.

Really hope he does well as he can be a efficient solid player, while it wouldn’t totally shock me if he starts, but throwing him into his first game of the season after so much uncertainty against sure NW but who are still a P6 team may not be the best move

Quick impression: liked the D, didn't see much of the shot, not overly impressed with shot selection.

Quick impression: liked the D, didn't see much of the shot, not overly impressed with shot selection. Think he was 2/4 from 3, 5/9 from the field so really a pretty good showing on the offensive end. Probably the 2-pt shots he missed were forced, but overall liked the production. Definitely a solid individual defender. Pity our team defense is such trash.

All great to hear, especially: ".... but when that ball go in the air, people going to see we're not gonna be played with."
And thanks 2003, from those of us who don't do Twitter

It is also great to hear about Heath taking his education seriously. Good stuff.

I'm very interested in seeing what a "big" jump will entail but I'm not at all surprised he's impressing the coaches..

Not sure…but something seems off with Heath. His body language is bad, he is falling away on all his shots, even when wide open, he isn’t taking it to the hole, he just seems like he’s in his head.
We need him to be a contributor. We need him to play loose and be active. It’s time!

It's time for him to take time off to let his toe heal. He couldn't guard my dead grandma right now. We're low on bodies, but he's actively hurting an already bad team.

Shaky handles, not a point guard but small for a wing. Streaky shooter, has lapses of concentration. There has been some improvement in rebounding and assists under Cooley but I just don’t expect a huge jump in play from a fifth year senior.

Hey Jay there’s some Hoya fans that have faith you will rebound and play better basketball. Keep your head up kid.

Didn’t you hear/read some posters that we can go through the season with just 9 scholarship players??? It’s like some of those posters don’t have “decades of experience”.

If his turf toe is not cured/healed, then sit him until it is. An away result vs Marquette in December, and the team already out of contention for an at-large bid, doesn’t matter. The season is lost. Our only hope is a BET run. But, no, he gets to play 21 minutes vs MU.

Can we not eat our own? Jay is a returning playing for this program. I think we are seeing the costs of not having a lot of experience or continuity. Can he play better? Yes, but can we show a bit of respect to him as he and the others try to figure it out?

Not trying to disrespect here. Just making an observation is that he is way off on wide open threes and his mechanics seem to vary from shot to shot. That is new.
