The Biden Administration announced today that it will ban menthol cigarettes while at the same time it allows fentanyl to flood across the borders. You can't make this stuff up.

Are you afraid that menthol cigarette users are going to get hooked on fentanyl? I don't understand. Also not sure how a ban on menthol cigarettes qualifies as a "dystopian world".

How many pounds of menthol cigarettes did they seize? Oh, right.

Your comments remind me pf the time about 16 or so years ago when I interviewed the head of one of the California Offices of DEA. I did my homework the night before the interview and was impressed that the office had higher seizures than the last 2 years, more lab tests completed, more arrests etc. and that the seizures related to the drug most feared at the time, crack cocaine were up. I started the interview by congratulating the Office chief to then be surprised by his answer which was that the increased seizures of crack indicated quite the opposite of you would think. The augmented seizures and the arrests were evidence that the crack problem was getting far worse and that the drug cartels were winning. He actually said that he was pleading for more budget. My life's experience convinces me that we are experiencing the same problem today with fentanyl as we were with crack cocaine and that seizure amounts are much like the Robert McNamara body counts in another lost war which we are all familiar with.

How many pounds of menthol cigarettes did they seize? Oh, right. Now that you suggest it, I actually believe someone in Biden's White House will probably suggest diverting some of the Ukraine money for this since "pounds of Menthol cigarettes seized" would be a great statistic to use on cable TV.

So you’re saying the United States government needs to put more money into mental health and addiction services to help lessen the demand and needs to address the hereditary poverty and poor education cycles that contribute to this problem? Good call.

So,office chief spins interview to include a plea for more money for his office. Isn't that how you should have expected the interview to unfold?

Not necessarily. Been doing this stuff for 30 years plus. Always evaluate motivations of everyone involved and have found that letting the other guy do most of the talking gives the most information and greatest perspective. Auditing/consulting is never a black and white process.

Difficult to believe that you're still employable considering your comments on Biden's diversion of funds for Ukraine to "combat" menthol cigarettes. Your bosses haven't figured out you're off the rails? FWIW, you don't strike me (or, likely, anyone) as a great listener. Sweet humblebrag, regardless.
