The Virginia Challenge will take place at C'ville on the UVA campus. About 1500 entries make this one of the largest meets on the east coast. For the Hoyas two of the men runners that I was hoping to run are Andrew Jordan, who is entered in the 10000m and Parker Stokes, who is entered in his signature event, the 3000m Steeplechase. On the women's side, Charlotte Dannatt will be entered in the 10000m.

Lots of other Hoyas running in this meet. However, the four who ran last week in LA are not entered.

Andrew Jordan does not appear to be in the 10000m. The Hoyas in the men's invited 10000m are Rusty KUJDYCH, Quinn NICHOLSON, and Jack VAN SCOTER. Parker Stokes is entered in the 2nd heat of the invited 3000SC along with Jantz TOSTENSON; and Price OWENS and Scott JOHNSON are entered in the first heat. Georgetown [SR]

No Hoyas are entered in the invitational 1500m, but these are entered in the men's standard 1500m: Matt YOUNG, Mateo ALTHOUSE, Owen RITZ, Abel TEFFRA, Lucas GUERRA, Camden GILMORE, and representing the US Shea WEILBAKER.

The men's invitational 1500m was not much faster than the non-invitational 1500m. About one second at the front.

Men's invitational 3000mSC
Parker Stokes set the meet and facility record with a great 8:32.22. Jaziri looked like he was running away with the race, but a good 7th lap and a great 64.56 second last lap secured the win from Jaziri, who faded to 3rd, and El Hocine BOUCHRAK took second. Jantz TOSTENSON got a PB of 8:46.70 by running a very nice 67.57 last lap. It was great to see him holding on, because he has faded at the end in some of his races (to his merit he sometimes goes out fast and maybe that is to pace other runners; this time he was conservative in the early running.
So Parker was first and Jantz was 7th.

Some fast times in the Men's 800. Congrats to Tim and Abel on breaking 1:50 and new PRs! Lucas and Cam just behind. Also congrats to Theo in the Invitational 800m; I believe that is his first track race in almost a year?

In the regional rankings the women remain 8th. The men jump two places to 5th.
In the national rankings the women fell six spots to #44. The men jumped 15 places to #36, so in the past two weeks the Hoyas have jumped 103 places. This week's uplift is due mainly for Parker Stokes #1 ranking in the SC.
The women remain #4 in the Big East. The men jumped over Villanova to #2 in the Big East.
The women move up three places to #10 in the 1500 squad event. The women dropped two places in the 800 squad event to #13.
The men move up two places to #10 in the 800 squad event. The men remain 2nd in the 1500 squad event. The men went from NR to #3 in the 3000mSC. The men are ranked 17th in the 10000m.
