Anyone know who some of our conference buddies (?) are playing this year on their non conference schedules?

Don't know too much except that Syracuse fans hate their weak schedule again. Also Duke fans are very dissatisfied about their easy non conference schedule. Duke fans are simply hoping Gtown will turn out to be better than expected in order to make their no con schedule look more decent. Supposedly Feinstein joked that if Duke doesn't go undefeated Coach K should be fired.
And you don't even want to know how ticked off GW fans are with the Colonials' schedule.

UCONvicts will be playing Pepperdine and will be appearing in the EA Maui Invitational where they are gauranteed a game against Arkansas.

And Pitt shows what a Pitt education gets you: they have decided to schedule 10 of their 11 non-conference games at home (one is technically at Dusquene) but they only leave Pittsburgh to play South Carolina. Not exactly challenging - the only game that is tough is Wisconsin, who they have to play as part of the Big East/Big 10 challenge. Good work guys. Once again proving that if you can't go to college, you can always go to Pitt. www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/mbball/release.asp?RELEASE_ID=11178

Villanova hasn't announced the OOC schedule officially, but the following games appear to be confirmed:
at Texas Oklahoma at Bucknell Rider (neutral court) at Temple at Penn LaSalle St. Joe's (at Palestra) Lehigh
Expect 2-3 home cupcakes to be added to that.

The Maui Invitational is no joke. Check out the field:
Game 1: Michigan State vs. Chaminade Game 2: Gonzaga vs. Maryland Game 3: Arizona vs. Kansas Game 4: UConn vs. Arkansas

Now THAT'S a legit in-season tourney. Sure beats Colgate-Georgetown, UTEP-Whatsamatta U.

But those games may be the only legit games UConn plays all season (non con of course). Gtown already has Illinois, Michigan, Duke, Oregon and possibly one more high D1 team (based on some HR discussions) on the way.

G-Town may end up with the toughest OOC schedule of anyone in the Big East this year.
I think a bunch of teams are playing it easy due to the new league format and not quite sure what the extra two games will do.
The question is do you take off two cupcakes or two tough teams? Hoyas clearly went with choice A.
With all the road games we have a potentially RPI-friendly schedule too. Next year might be different with everything at home, but this could be a good year...unless you have season tickets and hoped to see some better OOC games...

Depauls OOC includes:
Bradley, Bucknell, Florida A&M and Northwestern at home
and
Dayton, NIU, Old Dominion and Wake Forest
at least one neutral court game will be in Oakland against Cal
overall not a bad schedule.

Notre Dame's OCC to date:
Hofstra, NC State (neutral court), @ Alabama, IPFW, Columbia, Michigan, and Vermont
again. not bad - but not our quality of OCC either.
