Turtleman! No politician better exemplifies the triumph of partisanship over duty to country than Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). But unlike some of his more brazen colleagues, he often feels obliged to concoct reasons for his ruthless partisanship, unintentionally revealing that power is his only objective. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/16/mcconnell-judge-ketanji-brown-jackson/

Josh "Tiny Fist" Hawley is really a GOP POS but he is consistent with the steaming heap of dung known as the "Republican" party/cult. [T]he picture that Hawley provides is a selective one that lacks significant context. He suggests that Jackson is out of the judicial mainstream with her sentencing of child-pornography defendants. But he ignores a long debate within the judicial community about whether mandatory minimums were too high. As a member of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, which is charged with reducing sentencing disparities, Jackson was intimately involved in that debate. Hawley selectively quotes from testimony, USCC materials and various court cases to make his case. Let’s take a tour through his technique. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/19/sen-hawleys-misleading-attack-judge-jacksons-sentencing-child-porn-offenders/

Hey, HoyaTalk "Republicans" can you help me out? GOPers are saying that Judge Brown Jackson (whose brother is a police officer) is "soft on crime." The Fraternal Order of Police (who also endorsed the orange psychopath) support her nomination. Does that mean the FOP is "soft on crime" as well? Thanks in advance! GOP clowns . . . “We won’t try to turn this into a spectacle,” proposed Sen. Charles E. Grassley (Iowa), the committee’s ranking Republican. “It won’t be a circus,” promised Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.). Even Sen. Ted Cruz (Tex.), a regular ringmaster, said “this will not be a political circus.” Then the clown car rolled in. Republicans used their opening statements to portray Jackson, the first Black woman nominated to the high court, as not just a pedophile enabler but also a terrorist sympathizer with a “hidden agenda” to indoctrinate Americans with the “racist vitriol” of critical race theory. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/21/hawley-republicans-jackson-hearing-pedophile-smear/

Snowflakes and victims . . . waah, waah, waaah! Racist jerks and morons. What they can do is use her confirmation hearings for other political purposes, as both parties always do in these situations. Some Republicans have chosen to do so with bad-faith attacks on Jackson; Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), in an apparent attempt to secure the QAnon vote when he runs for president, tore a few sentences in previous rulings and writings out of context to make the repulsive accusation that she is “soft” on child porn. But so far, their clearest focus has been on their own victimization. You may be under the hot lights and being cross-examined, they are telling Jackson, but we are the real victims here. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/22/ketanji-brown-jackson-republican-victimhood/For decades, Republican officials and candidates slowly moved away from explicit racial appeals to quiet or subtle ones, a pattern reflected in the “Southern strategy.” But emboldened by the increased discussion about race that accompanied the emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement, the party has started moving back to more explicit racial appeals such as that focus on “critical race theory.” Ask a Republican voter what CRT means, and they are likely to offer up some pastiche of concerns about children being taught that White people are inherently guilty or bad and that the United States is foundationally racist. CRT has been recodified to annex the entire range of cultural constructions that are unpopular with Americans, as Rufo promised — where “Americans” means “heavily conservative White Americans.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/03/22/gop-drops-any-subtlety-centering-jackson-nomination-fight-race/

One would think that the Christian conservatives, especially, would be psyched for a SC justice that, "goes easy on pedophiles." It would benefit no single group more than them and is, seemingly, right in line with their demonstrated beliefs.

Whining snowflakes MAGA GOPers. Waaah! Waaah! Waaah! On a scale of 1 to 10 their whining goes to 11. William Faulkner was not writing about Supreme Court confirmation hearings when he observed that “the past is never dead,” but he might as well have been. Increasingly, the sessions have become open season for relitigating nominations past. Grievances, ancient and recent, are endlessly exhumed and renewed, reduced to their most cartoonish dimensions in pursuit of political advantage. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/22/janice-rogers-brown-republicans-kbj-hearing/

No matter, they'll just make some up. It's the worst soap opera of all time. Pathetic.

Judge Jackson has thus far demonstrated that she is both smarter and more articulate than the moronic MAGA GOPer Senators. What a bunch of despicable political hacks and cultists.

Six weeks ago, in early February, SCOTUS stayed a ruling ordering Alabama to redraw its congressional map because it was too close to the election
Now, in late March, it's ordering Wisconsin to redraw its legislative maps.
They are not bound or guided by the law but by pure political outcomes.

I love how he says at the end that you can’t ask for it because it would be considered racist. The Tucker Carlson White Power hour is evolving…

What a bunch of clown/morons masquerading as a political party. It's a cult - willingness to look foolish in public is a necessary qualification for membership in the party/cult. The 2024 Presidential Ticket for the MAGA GOP: Orange Psychopath/ Editeder Carlson! GOLF FOXTROT YANKEE! Jackson’s performance during her confirmation hearing this week has been impressive for its restraint and general grace. But the deliberations of the Senate Judiciary Committee may be remembered for her understandable confusion about topics that make complete sense only among movement conservatives. On the evidence of Brown’s most tenacious questioners, this is now what it takes to win prominence in the modern GOP: a quiver full of culture-war attacks and a stout willingness to look foolish in public. Republicans have gone from arguing about the intent of the Founders to reproducing the night’s lineup of questions from Tucker Carlson. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/24/ketanji-brown-jackson-supreme-court-republican-party-decay/
