What does everyone think of the new policy on Covid-19 ? Seton hall just forfeit there game against St. John’s. Because Covid within there team. That’s pretty rough taking a losss.that is rough to loose and didn’t play. Thought on it?

I think it's harsh, IF the players, coaches, etc. have been fully vaxxed. It's one thing to punish those who don't do anything to protect themselves, but to hold harm for programs which did jump through all the hoops, vaccination-wise, seems punitive of what amounts to dumb luck. What we ( or at least I) don't know, is which programs, including GU, have done due diligence.

Their games this week are Monday and Thursday so do they forfeit both and start 0-2 in the Big East. Then they head into the new year unranked dropping from number 16? Seems really harsh in my opinion and has the potential to punish these kids who work incredibly hard for something totally out of their control.

From this: hereIt will result in a conference-only forfeit, per Big East policy. It will not affect Seton Hall's overall record and will go down as a "no contest,'' per NCAA policy.

Probably will have minimal effect on the national poll ranking, and will likely be ignored completely by the NCAA selection committee when it it time to seed March Madness (assuming there is a March Madness...). The only effect I see will be on the seedings in the Big East Conference tournament, where forfeiture losses will count in the overall conference won-loss record. And as we saw last year...Big East Conference tournament seeding can merely be a speed bump en route to the NCAAs.

Totally reasonable as fully explained and avoids re-scheduling nightmares. It's still a pandemic after all.

If we’re as bad as some on here say we are then this rule can only be a bonus for us

Finally the big east conference got it right
Yes I am happy the big east changed the rule on forfeit. This is more like it. Go Hoyas.
