And almost immediately, Tulsa abandons the press and stays more compact. Inexplicable. Hoyas immediately with several chances. Murrell now with a knock, which doesn't help.

Tom of chances at the end including a fairly open header from the six yard box and a claim for a penalty that frankly could have gone either way.

Just couldn't get a shot on frame from all the close chances. Four or five headers all over the bar, plus the late chance with Panayotou and Sargeant. Humbug.

Entertaining game - unfortunately Tulsa controlled the midfield defensively most of the game. Hoyas with plenty of chances late but couldn't put much of anything on frame. Quite a season for a team that is actually very young.

Creighton is peaking at the right time Yeah, it adds to the disappointment knowing they took out U-Dub on the other side of the bracket. They're hot right now, but streaky, and we know they're beatable. Anyway...given all the Hoyas' offensive talent, you gotta get at least 1 goal in 110 minutes. Hopefully, this experience translates to much greater consistency next year.

Not sure we could beat Creighton right now. They are a scoring machine.

On reflection, given the level of new talent incorporated into the side, the early uncertainty in the nets, and the loss of hugely significant players, this season was, after the rough start, a great success for the staff and the team.
This loss hurts because the game was winnable and there is no super team out there.
That said, the future looks bright with another monster recruiting class and a culture of stability and winning in place.

Agreed! This was such a young and inexperienced team with the significant losses we took from last year. I blame Coach Wiese for getting our expectations up by doing such an amazing coaching job making the boys so competitive and almost winning the Big East😊 Kudos to him and his staff for the amazing job they did! What a tremendous foundation he has put in place and the future continues to look bright.

Not sure we could beat Creighton right now. The are a scoring machine. I mean, yeah, there's a decent chance if we had faced them again, we'd have gotten the doors blown off like in the BE Final. But I would've rather had that result, with all the rivalry-building that entails (plus an extra week of practice, 'buzz' for whatever that's worth, etc.) than going out with more of a whimper than a bang down in Oklahoma. Regardless, agree with everyone talking about how even getting to this point is due to the coaches really earning their keep and the players buying in. When a season with 'only' a regular season trophy, a trip to the BE finals, and a second-round NCAA appearance feels like a down year... that means a whole lot of things have had to go very right to get your program to that point. Now... let's see if we actually get these lights up on Shaw!

I still have a team in the elite eight as Portland (my son's alma mater and two time soccer NCAA women's title) beat Western Michigan and will play Pitt. Speaking of UP, they beat Villanova in the Knight Invitational and lost by a point to Michigan State.

Both have a shot, most probably to start in USL. Good for them.

Not sure which is more painful - the Hoyas going out early?
Or
Syracuse playing for the Cup on Monday night!

Yeah, Cuse took down a hot Creighton team 3-2 in the semis.
