If I were the new coach I’d definitely try to re-recruit some of the roster just for APR-repair purposes. Let the graduating players go (if we actually have any), replace them with my own recruits, but try to retain the other guys. You’re not going to bat 1.000 on retaining them, so there’s still room to rebuild the roster with your own guys, but you need to stop the APR bleeding if you can.

I hope Bass lands at a legitimate college basketball program rather than Thompson friends and family annuity program…

I hope Bass lands at a legitimate college basketball program rather than Thompson friends and family annuity program… I'll be interested to see where he and Anglin land. Both are probably a few years away from contributing in a meaningful way at this level (not because of what we saw, but based on the trend of 4th & 5th year guys getting all the minutes). Our recruits who have transferred have almost always leveled down in the Ewing years. Gardner, Alexander, Sibley, Sodom, Carter, last years entire class. Akinjo & MacClung were the only two who moved onto other major conference teams (Leblanc for a minute and then down). In the III years, our transfers at least moved to other power conferences. I am thinking White, Copeland, Campbell and even Domingo went to Cal. Good luck to both. In a less toxic environment without Ronny & all the L's, maybe you could get these two to stay. I am guessing if any of the hoops department stays behind, it will be a tough ask to keep either of these kids.

I suppose you mean freshman recruits, but Carey transferred to a Big 10 team that is in the tournament, and Wahab transferred there and back.

Don is in his 45th year of college so easy to mistake that one. I'm glad he is getting to the tourney. On Wahab, I definitely missed that. I have wiped him from my brain as I am still bitter.

Anyone see any updates on D’ante? I like his skill set and actually think he’d be a good fit for how Coach Cooley plays. Anyone know if he is still on campus, etc?

Wishing him all the best. Showed up, practiced and did not make waves. Will never understand Ewing’s refusal to play the end of the bench in games that were clearly lost. Did Bass play enough to lose his redshirt year?

Another Hoya falling into the mid-major abyss after a year with Ewing. Bass had offers from Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia Tech out of high school. Destroying value. SMH,
