Wow… this kid is an all around athlete! Hope he gets some playing time - would he be a 4? 3?

He'd like to be a 3, but with his height, might be relied on to play the 4. Could be the stretch 4 of constant longing. Or, could be a career bench guy. Not coming with a bunch of *****'s attached to his name. I like the track and field skills. I remember this not very highy recruited kid who was also a high jump champ. Kid from Gastonia, NC. Let me dream, for now.

3 and 4 operate the same spaces in most offenses so it’s really about who he guards on defense. I see a 4 man personally but we’ll see how it plays out.

Eric Floyd, assuming this was guessing the kid from Gastonia. When I dream, might as well dream big.

Sadly this could be seen coming. With the coaching change I would have hoped he stuck around longer. I'm sorry to see him go and sorry with what he put up with this past year.

Entering the portal isn’t irrevocable and any new coach could theoretically re-recruit any of these players. They’re smart to jump in the portal regardless since a waiver is assured if it does become the right move for them to go.

Athletic kid who looked the part but obviously never got a chance - could see him being a contributor at an SEC or AAC program.

The biggest shame of Patrick's time coaching was the complete failure to develop young players.

The biggest shame of Patrick's time coaching was the complete failure to develop young players. With Bass transferring, that means all of Ewing's freshman from 2018 onward transferred right (though Wahab cameback), other than Wilson who was bumped from the team before coming back?

Ryan and Jordan are still here (at least as I write) but the Portal doesn't officially open until Monday. It's a sad history though

Classy statement on his part. Wish him the best in the future.

I'm sad to see D'ante go -- little positive for him in his year at Georgetown. Will not make recruiting any easier for the next guy.
I'm holding out hope that Jordan stays. Not because he doesn't have every reason to go (he does), but because his father is happy about the education he's getting and would seem to want his son to stay on.

If I was advising these kids, I'd tell every single player to put himself in the transfer portal, start to generate some interest, but to try to hold on to hear the sales pitch from the next coach. Just because they enter the portal doesn't mean they are gone. In 2023, a new coach is going to have to re-recruit his entire roster. I wish the roster had all declared weeks ago that they were going to enter the transfer portal .. perhaps that would have pushed up the public announcement of the foregone decision that Ewing was out.

Maybe it will change under the next coach, but it seemed that during the Ewing Era that GU operated like it had no obligation to keep players and indeed appeared to push most fringe players off the team ...
