I just thought I would throw in (that being the nature of things) that I expect Bass to be our best player next year. Bold take and probably a bridge too far, but I've thought that depending on a couple of other roster moves, it's not crazy to think he could be a starter next year. And definitely has a great chance to compete for a significant role--there are forward minutes to be had, IMHO. I think if he's our best player we're probably in for a long year, though.

It was intended as a joke. That's why I added the parenthetical nature of things reference. Hoping for the best, anyway, but if he turns out to be our best player, then either we will be in a world of hurt, or we will have found the next Ja Morant.

Follow the link for the full interview. Bass mentions that Ewing plans to use him as a 3-4 and that a member of the staff came to watch him vs Pebblebrook. Interview starts at 29:00.

Good to see DAnte dominating. How good is his HS conference? Is he just beating up on overmatched guys?

The Class 3A top-ranked Windsor Forest boys (10-2, 3-0) will be tested Saturday at Class 7A No. 8 Grayson, and the Knights will have to find a way to silence the Rams’ Chauncey Wiggins, a Clemson signee, in a meeting of two of the best players in the state. Windsor Forest’s power forward D’Ante Bass, who has signed with Georgetown, is averaging 19.3 points and seven rebounds, and the matchup against Wiggins will be one to watch. The 6-foot-6, 188-pound Bass is rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and ranked as the 14th best player in the state, regardless of position, for the class of 2022. Wiggins, a 6-9, 190-pound power forward, is rated as a three-star recruit and is the eighth best player in the state, regardless of position. Grayson is 8-4 record this season. www.ajc.com/sports/high-school-sports-blog/class-3a-blog-wiggins-bass-matchup-highlights-basketball-week/YQVFIGN3YVCZ7E4YD5IUAT4DRQ/

Signed with Alabama State. Come on man! I would get going to a Howard but unless Cooley told him the door was shut, why not ride pine, develop, and maybe get a degree at Gtown vs. Alabama State. These kids are losing their damn minds with the transfer portal.

If Alabama State is the place, he might as well just stay on the Hoyas bench and play pick-up at Yates for more minutes. If that was the enticing offer to move on, then kids aren't thinking with clear eyes.

He put his name in the Portal before it was announced that Ewing would not be back. Cooley was very upfront that the biggest thing he was looking for was someone who wanted to be at Georgetown. Anglin, Bass, and Riley all did not want to wait to see if Ewing would be gone, much less who would replace him. Cooley did not show any of them the door. He also made it clear that he had no interest in trying to change their minds. By going into the Portal they were on the record that they did not want to be at Georgetown.
It is hard for me to understand why they would not wait at least a few days to see if Ewing would be back. Once that was announced, wait and see who the replacement was. By being some of the first into the Portal they gained very little given the length of time no one picked them up. But they did shut the door on the option to see if there was mutual interest with the new coach.

Certainly raises the question of talent evaluation under the old regime….
He did not exactly leave for a high major
