Rice like Dante and Aminu was allowed to shoot whenever he wanted whether or not it was in the flow of the ( so-called) offense. Like the other two I believe he suffered from his coaching-or lack thereof- at the hands of Ewing and company. I hope that wherever he goes from here that he gets better coaching because he has a gift with that quick release and range. Yeah, agreed…it’s not like he took a lot of 3s at his last stop. hm

I actually believe Kaden worked on, and slightly improved, his defense during the season, but started from such a low level of defensive competence that he still made bone-headed plays in each game. I also thought that, over the last maybe 8-10 games, he tried to mix in drives with his 3 point shots, but again, was starting from a background of never having done this at the Citadel., and had limited success. I assume someone on the staff was coaching some of this, but I have no real info on whom. Probably more due diligence in preparing him for the next step than actually thinking there was time to turn things around as a Hoya. I wish Kaiden good luck playing with the Newfoundland Growlers. Not introducing info that he's headed there, but wondering how many Hoyas will go up north to play for Pat, Jr.

I went down to Columbia for the South Carolina game, which was about as tough a homecoming as anyone could have, and his defense was worse than his shooting that day--lost his man repeatedly, late on closeouts (not unique to Kaiden)--he would have had trouble guarding a Stop sign in December.
His defense did improve to the point where you noticed the improvement and you could see he was putting in the effort but given his height and (decent) speed, I just expected more from him.

I was at that game as well. It is hard to articulate how much he killed us. If he makes two open shots, and is slightly less awful on defense, we win that game. Fatal.
