I was referencing the DVD and not the article. I would think they would have to have some footage.

Rayful was young and stupid…
He was 24, raking in $1 Million per week and going around town spending money like that and drawing all that attention to himself.
Oh well…luckily for the general public, he was really stupid and careless…

The best drug dealer story ever was "Blow" - the book, not the movie. The guy was the first big coke dealer in the US in the early seventies. He would travel back and forth from Miami to LA, flying first class of course. He'd wake up mid-flight and forget which way he was traveling, so he'd check his carryon - if it was filled with coke, he was going west; if it was filled with cash, he was going east. He had no other luggage.

I think it is a sign of perspective that we've had two separate threads discussing Rayful Edmonds, and no one has brought up JT II's appearance on the Nightline Town Meeting (from a church in Anacostia?--help me out) where he discussed his meeting with Rayful Edmonds, and his request that Rayful stay away from his team. For those who don't recall, it was a huge media deal at the time, especally if you didn't like GU--stories along the lines of the morality of John Thompson meeting with a drug dealer. John was pretty blunt as I recall.

I saw the DVD. It was okay. It was a lot of old news clips from channels 4,5,7, & 9. There was a brief news clip in the beginning of the movie about Alonzo Mourning's association with Rayful, showing Alonzo in a G'town uniform during a game. They also show a pic with Alonzo and a few guys. I couldn't make out who the other guys were, because they showed the clip while the credits were rolling on top of the pic. One of Rayful's ex-partners who produced the movie, briefly mentioned Alonzo's name. He was talking about how D.C. influenced a lot of people's style of dress, etc..
With regards to JT2, very few people, who are not of the underworld or law enforcement, on this earth could have done what JT2 did or had the courage when he sat down with Rayful. But, don't forget that JT2 is from D.C. too. So JT2 was NOT going to be scared or intimidated by being in the presence of Rayful. JT2 was going to say what he needed to say to Rayful just so that Rayful understood that he should stay away from GU players. JT2 said the same thing to his players. Mourning listened, Turner did not. Turner was off the team, and Mourning eventually graduated with a Georgetown degree.
