I was wearing my soccer championship shirt all day, but superstitions don't work (all the times). Great season for the guys, so congratulations for all they accomplished. The stats showed an equal game, but the scoreboard showed differently. Keep your head lifted high Hoyas. Now beat the cuse tomorrow.

Tough loss I was glued to my seat hoping for the performance to improve so quick thoughts first half was a bit rough and we struggled to complete passes in the final third to any effect for most of the game, some players had a worse game than others but win as a team and lose as one, lethargic play at times that didn’t have the usual zip in decision making, passes and runs which really hurts especially on defense leaving gaps and letting crosses, some missed opportunities and that should’ve been a foul/penalty in my opinion before the second goal with the defender dragging his leg since he was beaten (I have refereed and played soccer for years, not any bias honestly because I would rather see a fair game lost than a badly cheated game won that is just my mentality towards sports). Overall great season something to be proud of and this I think is just a hazard of playing such a nice brand of soccer that when things are off at all it is hard to recover as a whole squad and teams that park the bus can just get lucky while absorbing pressure for most of the game as shown here (it is technically the most successful strategy in soccer I believe at least years back when that analysis was done). And on that note from just seeing some of the other game and looking at the rankings, we are number one in the country in my opinion considering the way we play being so impressive and the quality of players that hopefully keep working and showing up to chase the title next season, it just doesn’t fall that way sometimes so definitely will be tuned in next fall to get after it

What a great season, what a fantastic program coach has developed - and what an amazing group of young men, who will continue to do great things on and off the pitch. Proud to be a Hoya fan tonight.
Hoya Saxa!

As good as any team, without question. And I have to assume that's a huge selling point for recruits, since the foot skill and decision making all over the field are heavily sought after in the pros. I don't think they really parked the bus, to be fair, until they got ahead. They certainly stayed very compact. And their individual defending was spectacular. Rarely beaten off the dribble and blocked countless cross attempts. We had to score through long switches over the defense (the just wide attempt in the first half) or crosses (the goal and the free header in the first half). And we aren't as well built to win that way. I thought both penalties could have been called but I had no issue objectively with them not being called. I didnt think either was egregious. But....it's a game where you need some luck and we didn't get it yesterday. (Didnt really in the round of 8 either and won despite it.)

Glad to see Washington lose.
I don’t like their Coach and am glad to see them go home empty handed.

Glad to see Washington lose. I don’t like their Coach and am glad to see them go home empty handed. You know, Jamie did seem much calmer this go-round, both toward the officials and toward his own players. Who knows what the cause might be - newfound perspective due to Covid? Just general maturation? Regardless, if Brian says he's a good friend, good man, and good coach, that's good enough for me.

However his antics in the 2019 Elite 8 game rubbed, and continue to rub, me wrong. Silly grudge to be sure, but most are.

Dante Polvara and Will Sands named first team Academic All-Americans.
The overall quality of this program is fantastic.
