Scoreless at the half. Almost felt a bit like last year's NCAA tournament, with how many long balls Hoyas were trying. 0-2. Not a good start to the weekend.

Not much you can do about that second goal. Wondergoal.
Still time but need to get one back quickly.

Times running out. They have 5 min to the 15 min mark to get that first goal.

I don't know much about soccer strategy but it feels like we have controlled the ball for a large portion of the game. There is a lot of passing int he backfield but very little aggression moving downhill (to use a basketball term) towards the goal. The one or two times we tried we got corners but felt like even those weren't entirely aggressive.

Which means they are conceding ball control/possession but creating a fortress in the penalty man. A tall, big target man would be useful right now.

Let’s bus these fans back to DC for the noon start. We’re gonna need them.

Just heartbroken for the kids and the staff.
Time to reload and get back at it in ‘22.

Great season, boys. Obviously, the freakish goal changed things. But full credit to Washington. They really defended well. Completely disrupted our rhythm.

Great, exciting season to the team. They were a joy to watch. I'm as disappointed as they are that they aren't moving on. We continued our ball control with a few exceptions when we were down 2 goals. The first one was unfortunate, the second one unfortunately was a beauty.
Being on the West Coast we watched and let me point out the venue looked beautiful as it did in 2018 for the Womens Final Four. The Hoya fans were LOUD, LOUD, and spectacular. Coninue it through the basketball season.
Congrats to the team----a very very good one.

Team had a great season and should hold their heads up high. Big congrats to the students who made the journey to the game. Their presence was very prevalent while watching on TV. I second the above, get them on the bus and ready for tomorrow. The boys on the hardwood deserve and will need it.

No novel thoughts here. I'm bummed for the players and the stuff, will miss the seniors, have enjoyed watch the team play quality and attractive soccer, and want to give credit to the students for making the trip.

It hurts. It will probably hurt more tomorrow, until the hangover wears off. But at the end of it all: pride.
Hoya Saxa to one and all. I wouldn't want to share any of it with anyone else.
