Agreed Bigs. Not pointing out reality, just my wish list. Especially when it comes to the commitment to school. Harmon said the right things in the recruitment process about school mattering but that was garbage. You don't jump to the league as an undrafted freshman if school actually matters. It doesn’t appear that Ewing or GU think school matters for the basketball players so it seems like he picked the right place. And the Snark Award goes to hoya9797! Come on down, make your acceptance speech and pick up your trophy, which is a little boy sticking out his tongue while holding his thumb with an open palm against his nose.

…but in a half court setting he's getting beat at the point of attack far too often and completely dying on screens. He's been caught ball watching and lost his man cutting more than a few times as well. The patented Coach Ewing Georgetown Defense…

I tweeted out the three players recently and I still hold true to that. Undrafted shooting guard Aminu Mohammed, forward Tyler Bey, and shooting guard Malik Ellison are the three players that should have a future with the 76ers’ G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, next season. Let’s start with Mohammed who played for the Georgetown Hoyas last season. The 6-foot-5 guard was a one-and-done shooting guard he was known as a rebounder and defender in college. In the summer league, he’s played with a high defensive motor and has made high I.Q. plays. In Salt Lake City, he averaged 3.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals, while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. thesixersense.com/2022/07/08/3-take-aways-salt-lake-city-summer-league-play-2022/

Aminu's best summer league game so far. 17 minutes, 10 pt, 4/4 from field, 1/2 FT, 6 RB, 3 TO.

The 76ers coach was a teammate of Coach Ewing.

Is it me or is the marketing backwards? Ewing's face showing but Aminu's face not on Aminu's brand 🤷🏾♂️

I don't mean this as a knock on Aminu at all, and maybe it's typical for somebody like Aminu to do this, but legit question: who is going to be purchasing this stuff other than Shawn Harmon and some of his friends/family? Do all players in his situation do this now?

Another absolute bonehead decision by Harmon. Man really is doing Aminu plenty of favors.

There are far more than 10k Georgetown fans. But, had he stayed, we're still not buying enough of his merch for him to be able to live comfortably without having to make a career for himself unless he was a part of a championship team. Even then, he'd, very likely, still have to go out an earn it.

Maybe gain a following in another league or stick around long enough that someone will remember your name in three years and that you were part of the team that helped turn around a program. I really like this kid and just hope this works out for him. All signs seem to be pointing to, meh.

Even then, he'd, very likely, still have to go out an earn it. Exactly. People have misconceptions about how much money "influencers" and social media types make. Sure, there absolutely are a bunch of people with hundreds of thousands or millions of followers who make a lot of money doing their thing. But, those are the notable types, there aren't that many of them, and in many instances their time making that kind of money is very limited. Even if there were 10,000 people who would "probably buy your brand" (and I think in Aminu's case, the amount of people who would buy his "brand" is way lower than 10,000), that's really not that many people in the larger scheme of things. 10,000 followers or fans won't make anybody rich. The reason why bigger stars make so much money off endorsements (and again, this is a very small set even among all NBA players) is because they are well known, have millions of fans, and most importantly, they help their brands like Nike, Under Armour, etc. sell product. That's not even remotely what Aminu is at the moment. I mean, look at the Big Baller Brand thing that the Balls tried to do. They are much better well known than Aminu, and they couldn't even manage to launch a successful brand.
