Ah, reminds me of my move-in 57 years ago. Wonderful spacious room waiting for me at Loyola. Great cafeteria food and a simple half day class registration at the gym. And greeting me at the main gate was Bill Clinton in a three piece suit. I feel sorry for kids nowadays.

I remember when I moved in, it was a heat wave for five days or so without a day below 95. I lived on the 3rd floor of St. Mary's which, back then was a dorm and the only one without A/C.

Air conditioning, you gotta be kidding. Here I was a babe in the woods having just turned 17 two weeks prior. I was greeted by the Prefect of Discipline who never cracked a smile my entire stay at Georgetown. In those days, Healy heat was provided via radiators. It is said that some "enterprising" upper class men would show up with a pipe wrench in hand "to pick up my radiator from last year". Of course the parents were sure to pay the $50 offered to purchase the radiator. The start of some of the best times of my life with classmates, virtually all of which are now deceased.

My move in day was emblematic of my GU career - showed up broke 2 days late.
