Hoping his latest health hiccup is just that.
He is to paraphrase the reaction to Jack Nicklaus’ arrival, “playing a game with which we are not familiar”
Hope to see him again in 5 days…

Scherzer lasted 12 pitches last night before leaving with groin injury day-to-day. The Nats bullpen gave up only one run, so of course they lost to SF 1-0.
He's in the last year of his K and already sold his house in DC area so anticipate the Nats might trade him - they are set for a rebuild.

deGrom has driven in more runs this year (5) than he has given up earned runs (4). We are approaching insane territory here. Maybe someone with better computer research skills than I can determine if this has ever happened 2 1/2 months into the season before. Bob Gibson in 1968? Walter Johnson or Christy Mathewson?

Just to point out a fact: Although Scherzer placed his home on the market, it did not sell. He is living in it with his wife and three children, including a six-week-old infant. He instead made his permanent home in West Palm Beach, a stone's throw from the Nats' spring training facility. You can believe what you like about Max's future with the Nats, but his housing situation is not evidence of an inevitable separation.

We shall see and the Nats recent revival from the near-dead may militate against the Nats being sellers before the trade deadline.

Talk to me when deGrom shuts out the Pads. At the rate the Nats are this year, Pierre deGrom could’ve shut them out. Like I said - it ain’t as clear cut as you think. Keep bristling. You will still be dead wrong. Just leaving this here:

He had a great season. You know full well he won by default. Enjoy. I mean, deGrom had an Icarus-like season... but staying healthy is part of the game. And quite frankly, I give a *ton* of credit to the Brewers staff for not overextending their pitchers in the post-COVID year where strain was an ever-present threat. As opposed to the Mets staff, which... um... So yeah... would it have been nice to see deGrom on a full season on the tear he had? No question. Of course, w/Burnes having the second-lowest FIP season in history, it's not exactly like his win should be asterisked either. Let's do it again in the spring.

Keep bristling. You will still be dead wrong. Just leaving this here: Watching a boorish poster like Elvado get owned like this - though it happens quite frequently and on a wide variety of topics - just never gets old.

Watching a boorish poster like Elvado get owned like this - though it happens quite frequently and on a wide variety of topics - just never gets old. Come on, that's not what happened here. Burnes deserved the award, but DeGrom was on his way to a Bob Gibson in 1968 season before he went down. I may agree with Elvado on very little, but he was not "owned" here.
