"Me and [point guard Drew Hall] have always had a special connection on the court. Between us there's just a certain ... photosynthesis." — Former Georgetown center Wesley Wilson after parlaying a pass from Hall into a last-second, game-winning dunk in the opening round of the 2002 Big East tournament. Forget synergy. Hoopsters on the Hilltop learn to turn light and water into simple sugars.Want more? Barker Davis has a slew of outrageous quotes from professional and college athletes from over the years. Link below. washingtontimes.com/sports/20050720-120144-1053r.htm

I have not seen the Barker Davis article. Did this outrageous quote make the cut:
"I believe that this season's men's basketball team and our new class of recruits holds a great deal of promise. I have confidence that Craig Esherick, who helped to build our tradition of excellence in men's basketball, is the right person to strengthen and lead our program."

Was this a list of the most vicious two-timers and backstabbers?
As wrong as March 17th (Black Wednesday) was, at least Deliega was right about the incoming recruiting class.

MCI,
The quotes in the Davis article had me crying! One of the Iron Mike snippets wasn't quite right, though. He actually said "I guess I'm gonna fade into Bolivian," not Bolivia.
Funny stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Add to this moustached list:
"For the referees in our league, and for our league, and for the adults that run our league to expect Mike Sweetney to put up with the contact that he has to put up in the post when he goes up to shoot, and to put up with the contact he has to absorb and deal with and be happy about and not have a referee call a foul, and then to have that same 20-year old watch our perimeter people guard people... and get called for hand-checking every time we put our hands on somebody else is just absolutely, absolutely crazy.
It is absolutely crazy for our league to countenance that. And if anyone wants me to spell it I will. For our league to countenance forcing a 20-year old to have to put up with that crap and to permit adults that referee our games to get away with that is just doesn't make any sense.
I will pay the way to Washington D.C. of any official that wants to sit down and watch a game with me and see the crap that Mike Sweetney has to put up with. And I will pay a referee to sit in the post and let somebody beat the crap out of him and see how he likes it. See how his back likes it. See how his arms like it. Just because Mike is 6-8, 260 doesn't mean he doesn't hurt when he gets fouled and doesn't mean it's not a foul. It is a foul.
I think it's amazing that Mike has been able to stay as calm as he has this year. That shows Mike's maturity and shows what kind of kid he is. But I swear to God, I'm not going to behave like that anymore. Anymore! I'm sick of this. I am absolutely sick of the way that Mike Sweetney is being treated in our league, and it makes no sense, it makes absolutely no sense, and it is unfair!!"

Who even came up with Mike Tyson? How can a man this ridiculous even walk the earth? It's really truly extraordinary.
If you want a fun night with some guys, buy a whole lot of cheap beer, and make a DVD of Tyson's first 20 or so pro fights. It's incredible.
And Wes's statement was hilarious even before "photosynthesis." Yeah, Wes, you had some kind of special connection with Drew Hall. Incidently, Wes hasn't gotten any time for the Charlotte Summer League team thus far. Hopefully he gets some really PT soon.

You know, that Drew to Wes play was one of about three good things to happen that ENTIRE season.
And what are the two most memorable things about it now?
Wes and Drew's special "photosynthesis"...
...and the image of Drew and Tony Bethel "celebrating" (which looked remarkably like "dry-humping") after the play, which was at the end of the Hoyas Intro video at MCI for at least the next season.

Nantz and Brees' comments are quite disturbing I must say.

T.O. just let loose a new classic:
"At the end of the day, I don't have to worry about what people think of me, whether they hate me or not. People hated on Jesus."

I like T.O., but he needs to start answering questions like President Bush… Gotta have the questions in advance…and gotta make sure the advisors and writers check over the responses before he opens his mouth…

Those quotes are great, but can any of them top our own Rich Chvotkin?
"Othella with a hooker in the lane!"

Didn't read the piece at the beginning of this thread but my favorite recent quote is from Randy Moss, responding to questions about his quasi-moon of Packer fans at Lambeau.
Reporter: "Hey Randy, you cut that check to the league yet?" Randy: "Man, I don't write checks, I'm rich." Reporter: "Then how are you gonna pay the fine?" Randy: "Straight cash, homey."[/i]
