Until Georgetown figures out how to build a legitimate NIL program, or the rules change, we will not compete in recruiting. Mark it down. We will have to operate like an Ivy in a quasi-scholarshipless environment.

People want to throw stones at a completely new regime at LSU while ignoring the fact that the big change of our offseason is that we hired from the old, corrupt one there and brought in a bundled recruit while doing it. We don't need to debate this. I know you have a good enough memory to probably remember my takes on your unfounded accusations directed at Nickelberry.

Is there any evidence that Georgetown has established a robust NIL program for its athletes? Failure to do so will be the death knell of Hoya basketball.

Program spends an enormous amount of money. Let's spend it on players instead of Ewing and Ronny and start winning some damn games.

The wolves came out for Ward commitment to LSU. TC, Boya and 9797. They love to rain on coach Ewing and the team parade.

This hurts because we got our hopes way up with some good vibes a week ago. Before the campus sighting, even with Brooks we were seen as on the outside. Oh well.
Fortunately, even without Ward we are still pretty good at the wing. Even if Aminu stays in the draft we have Murray and Bristol.
Now with primo and heath in the door, hopefully we can shift all focus to the 4s and 5s. Even the most optimistic about Anselem didn’t see him as a silver bullet. And there are still a bunch of solid transfer bigs out there. Let’s see where next couple weeks take us.

Until the NCAA allows direct payments to players, the only way to get money to players is through rich boosters who own local businesses they are happy to use as piggy banks for the program. While GU has rich alums, it doesn’t have the type of rich booster culture that the big football schools have.

None of us know why ward chose LSu. It’s easy to say money under the table or NIL. Could also be we lost 21 in a row and he’s not impressed with the team or staff. Could be any reason. I’d say on to the next one…but not expecting the next one to be very impactful.

I agree let’s move on to next player.

It’s not easy for recruiters no matter how good they are to convince kids to play for one of the worst coaches in the country.

We didn't offer enough to cover him through hiring Brooks?

Just a few days ago people were saying that Ward was coming here because of the money. I guess now we can all act self righteous again?

Now I don't know what to do with crystal ball predictions. I might have to actually study up, do a little research, dig around, and create an informed opinion. O.K., let's go.
Movin' on...

Just a few days ago people were saying that Ward was coming here because of the money. I guess now we can all act self righteous again? Wherever he was going it was for $$$ and playing time. You all are educated adults (I hope), can you guess which took priority? One program was offering more than the other, that's how life works. Would you turn down extra money (I'm talking tens maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars) to do your job for a year or two at one place over another? This is not about being self righteous, this is about business and life decisions. Money is flowing, it's up to the kids and their families to make their choice.
