Obiagu killed us in the first game. I think Q's new passing prowess will help him considerably against Obi. Pass it, get it back, move with purpose. We've got a punchers chance tonight and we just need to get off to an OK start. Maybe not scorching shooting but at least no dumb ass turnovers and one of Bile/Pickett needs to show up on O. Do that, and I think we get a W. Make Mamu work on D. I challenge your use of the word "prowess"!š While the concept of passing out of the double team is no longer entirely foreign to Q, "prowess" is still miles away. There is also the question of whether Hall will feel it necessary to double Q at all with Obi defending him. But there is a natural tendency by defenders to say in when the ball goes inside, so yes if Wahab can either explode into a move before Obi can defend it, or pass it right back out for a perimeter look, we can benefit.

I could not be more proud of this group and our coach.
I think the key to the game is containing Terry on the perimeter. He is an amazing guard but not sure of his long term NBA prospects. I think Q will have his hands full with Luther and Arturas. Even though heās young Hurley is smart, like a coach on the floor.
Iām optimistic. Hoya Saxa.

Hate to rain on the parade, but if recent history repeats itself, tonight's game could be a dud. We haven't won three straight games this season. We've had three chances - 2 of which I consider duds, and the other led to a dud the next game. GU 73, Providence 72 GU 86, Creighton 77 Villanova 84, GU 74 (not a dud, just tough final 5 minutes) Creighton 63, GU 48 (dud) GU 78, Butler 63 GU 81, Seton Hall 75 Connecticut 70, GU 57 (final 10 minutes dud) GU 68, DePaul 60 GU 72, Xavier 66 Connecticut 98, GU 82 (dud) If we've really turned a corner, we'll rise to the occasion tonight. Here's hoping. Go Hoyas. Don't think you are raining on anything. Note: each of the streaks was stopped by either the #2 or #3 seeds...We don't see either until the final. And both Creighton and UConn are scary, but we don't play either today. Also, we served some notice yesterday and got an extra few hours of rest along with them playing OT. So go Hoyas

Talk about unlucky. Yesterday I had to work until 1:30 so I missed the 2nd half of the biggest win in years. Tonight I'm off but my son has a football game. At what time? You guessed it, 6pm....so my phone will be fully charged.... š”

To win this game, all we have to do is put the clamps on Cale and Rhoden. We don't have to be concerned with Mamu. He's not enough to kill us. We are going to need Bile and Pickett to play good d on Rhoden and Cale. I wish we would start Blair but I know it isn't going to happen. We can't fall behind in this game and Blair makes sure that we won't fall behind.
On offense, we just need to attack their bigs with drives from Bile, Pickett and Blair. Q needs to pump fake and when Q goes up for his shot, Pickett and Bile need to flood the lanes immediately looking for putbacks and rebounds. Q needs to pump fake before he goes up on the Big O and that goes for anyone else who tries to take the ball up in the paint. PUMP FAKE before shooting. Look to get their bigs into foul trouble.
We need Blair attacking the basket. We need him doing that often looking for his shot first and dishing out to the wings when he doesn't have the shot. We need Bile, Pickett and Dante ready to knock down threes on Blair's drives to the basket. We also need to set up plays for Blair coming off screens so he can knock down his jumpers and threes. Most importantly we have to play great defense on their point guard making it hard for them to get into their offensive flow.
We need Dante to get the job done for us with that part (deeing up their point guard). If Bile can stay out of foul trouble and he can knock down his shots along with Pickett, this game will be a breeze because I know Blair is going to be on and Q is going to be on.
If we play great d on Cale and Rhoden (not letting them knock down their threes and not allowing them to get into the paint easily), Bile stays out of foul trouble, Pickett and Bile hit their shots, we can win this game easily!

I thought I heard he got a concussion in practice. But I could be wrong.
