cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/865903310. Georgetown: John Thompson III is recruiting better than he coached in his first season with the Hoyas -- and he coached awfully well in 2004-05. Thompson has commitments from big scoring guard Jeremiah Rivers (Doc's son) and power forward DaJuan Summers, plus an athletic transfer in ex-Indiana forward Patrick Ewing Jr. Headline writers (and me, too) can't wait for John Thompson to again coach Patrick Ewing at Georgetown.

Yeah if we get Mack and Crews I think we are #1 or top2 easily. JT3 cleaned this dynasty out and its beginning to shine again just like how the early 80 began.

Ohio State is #1 in this class and no one should catch them.
Macklin would guarantee us a top 15 class. Remember, schools like UNC and Duke will get four to five Top 30 recruits (even though I am not impressed by Duke's '06 class so far).
With Macklin, we'd have one Top 10-20, one Top 50 in Summers, and a Top 75 or so in Rivers (once it is all said and done, he may even be "just" Top 100 in their eyes). Adding a top 50 in Crews would make that a phenomenal class.
But it is nothing compare with Oden, Conley, Cook, Lighty and likely Thad Young or Raymar Morgan. At least not in the guru's eyes.

Yeah, forgot totally about Ohio State, they are the clear #1 team out there, but the rest is up for the grabbings. Cook and Oden on the same team will be crazy but Ohio State will be dead again in a few years because I can see a few one and dones (Cook and deff Oden). Also, the same will happen with Duke and UNC so Gtown is looking really pretty right now.

Duke's recruiting class is highly overrated. Their C commit (Zoubek) went to the Peach Jam and hardly played on his AAU team, which did not advance very far.

Yeah, that Zoubek kid is just height, hes gonna be a McDonalds All American prolly, but idk how, prolly just because Duke is getting him. He dont got alot of muscle, just bone and height, but with all of the muscle in the ACC, hell have to put some muscle on just to survive there.

We recruited Zoubek early on and he had us listed for a while, so he must be a little more than skin-n-bones for III to take a look.

JT3 is one of the most visible guys on the trail, so he sees players that he may or may not recruit heavily. My sense is that Zoubek fell into the latter category.

My friend who went to ABCD is a huge Duke fan, and he was asking around about Zoubek. Apparently, none of the recruiting gurus are too impressed with him.

With PTP'ers like Zoubek and Powlus/Paulus/whatever, Duke should be a national title contender well into the next decade, baby! Its awesome, baby! Dipsy-do, dunk-a-roo!

You mean he DIDN'T win the two Heisman's Beano Cook predicted?
The best was some game during his sophomore year when he threw like ONE good pass and the NBC announcer (I'm guessing it was Tom Hammond or someone like that) said something to the effect of "Two Heismans? WHY NOT THREE?!"
Hype. Of. The. Century.

I don't think that Paulus will necessarily fill up the scoreboard. But I do think that he will be a good point guard, dishing out a ton of assists to Redick, McRoberts, and Williams.

He doesn't need to be a scoring machine... If he can just hit enough J's to keep the defense honest and keep the opponents from collapsing on Williams, he's doing his part...

I don't think any of those guys are awful, but they are being hyped because of Duke.
Zoubek has done nothing to get a Top 10 or 20 ranking. Scheyer is hyped as the next JJ, but everyone says his outside shot is inconsistent. Seems suspect to me. I think Henderson's Top 40 ranking may be right, but his name is bigger because of the Ellington connection. And Paulus may be fine, but hardly someone who dominates the game. So it's a nice class -- one that would be a great class for most schools -- but without the Duke hype it might not make the top 10.

When Paulus comes to MCI this year, make sure to let him have it. He has around 28 brothers who have gone (or currently go) to Georgetown. The kid should be a Hoya, and probably would be if not for the rather horrendous shape our program was in at the time of his recruitment. So make sure you heckle him, but check to see if his brothers are around, because they're all pretty damn big!
Good people, and from what I've seen, Greg can REALLY ball. He was also the top prep QB in the nation by many estimations.
