Hope that we play butler in the first round (if that isn’t confirmed yet with providence win) and St. John’s ends in the spot that takes on UConn in round two because I think even without Posh, they have the best shot at an upset and then if not, play Creighton in the semis.

The way today has gone I expect Marquette to win and we won’t even get Butler.

I don’t subscribe to the Cooley is a bad coach narrative, but I do know several alums and fans who are not happy with him this year.
As we talk about how our schedule was unbalanced think about the following for PC the last month or so:
UConn without Bouknight DePaul without Moore Butler without Thompson Xavier without Johnson SJ without Alexander Nova without Gillespie (and Moore)

They went 4-1 over that stretch.

Butler is really struggling today so far. Creighton just had a player ejected from the game, though.

Creighton with a solid win over butler shooting 48% from 3, actually glad they are got it going again after the "situation" to hopefully beat UConn in the tournament semis

We can’t get one result to go our way today. Looks like Marquette won’t lay over vs Xavier (who looks awful again and now it looks like the conference is only getting 3 bids). MU looks poised to slot into the 9 seed as a much tougher Hoya opponent than Butler would be in my opinion.
PC would actually move up to the 6 and X falls to 7 too. That bottom half of the bracket (Creighton, UConn, PC, Xavier, DePaul) seems to be much less wide open. I’d be very surprised if it isn’t UConn vs Creighton on Friday night. The top half you have to think Nova vs St John’s in the other semi, but feels less certain.

Don't understand why Steele had Jason Carter and Colby Jones on the court for most of the second half, neither of whom can shoot/score, and never brought in KK Tandy, arguably his best three point threat (along with Kunkle), when he desperately needed scoring (especially 3 pointers) to get over the hump late....I think it cost him...I would have much preferred playing a down/depleted Butler team, but to advance we'll have to beat Marquette instead...

Steele is not a good coach. The Big East currently has several bad coaches: Leitao Ewing Wojo Steele Cooley Leitao’s gone after this year. Wojo is on thin ice. Ewing will be gone after next year, if he doesn’t quit this offseason. The purging of the bad coaches will be a good thing for the Big East.

Your quotes always make me laugh like why would Ewing quit in the off-season? There are definitely some below average coaches in the BE but you’re just hilarious at this point

So yesterday’s matchups went as bad as possible for the Hoyas. We lost, and pretty much went 0/4 in desired outcomes for the other games. Playing MU in the 8/9 game was the worst case scenario in my mind given the many other possibilities. While I think we would have been favored over Butler, I bet we are an underdog here.

I hate Quette and I hate that we lost to them more. I want to play Quette because I think we should have beat them the first time and we are playing better now. I hope the team is ready to play on Wednesday.
