From the UConn board posted by gibhunter
Louisville reminds me of last year's Pitt. Granted they have a better coach, but I'm talking about the returning talent. Padgett - Taft Palacios - Troutman Dean - Krauser
Both with question marks at small forward, but UL with a major question mark at point guard. They have no true point. They have a kid that tried it at times last year and a freshman rated out of top 100.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my preseason thoughts about their squad may have been based on wrong assumptions. In the CUSA they might have been able to get away with these holes, but in the Big East they are looking at a 9-6, maybe even 8-8 season. No way are they as good as last year.
Man to man or Box and 1 (on Dean) and Louisville is toast. Garcia used to beat people off the dribble. Dean is a spot up shooter, OBannon used to bail them out at SF but he graduated. They hope that they can feed it to Padgett and Palacios. It may work, but not reliably enough in the Big East. We have too many quality big men to be beaten by a center that prefers to play outside and a sophmore power forward that is a finesse player. They need muscle and toughness up front and their personnel just does not deliver.
They may still be good enough for third, but I have a feeling that Georgetown with their gift schedule will be this year's BC.

On the court, let's hope so.
Off the court, I pray to god NO for a million years. Of course, if our undergrad ladies started looking a bit more like theirs...

Buff - see my comment about tragic, but acceptable, collateral damage that may be necessary to destroy the offending campus that is a blight on the name of higher education and certainly jesuit education.

They may still be good enough for third, but I have a feeling that Georgetown with their gift schedule will be this year's BC. I dont really think we have a gift schedule.. Pitt, St Johns, South Florida we play 2x Louisville, Seton Hall we dont play U-Con and Villanofun away games Pitt and St Johns will be middle of the pack teams and USF last. But we dont play the Hall who will prob be 2nd to last. Away games at 2 preseason top 10 teams makes our schedule quite average in my opinion.
