Point well taken, bro. What's the expression? A Tisdale in the hand's worth....

Michael Graham will always be an enigma to me. The guy was such a raw talent. The 85 title would have been ours. The 85-86 team would have went deeper into the tournament. And the Reggie and The Miracles team would have least made it to the final four. I remember in Phil Jackson's book, he talked about when he coached Graham in the CBA. He said Graham was so talented, but he could not concentrate at all. Jackson said he would tell Graham things, looking Graham eye to eye, and it was as if Graham wasn't even there. He was just absent-minded. He had to cut him, and he felt bad doing it because he was so talented. While driving, Jackson pulled to the side of the road and cried after cutting Graham.

Wow, _way, the Zen Master said that? I just can't picture him getting that emotional over releasing a player. Methinks he exaggerated a tad.
Over the years I've heard a few different comments about what Graham's problems were. I won't repeat what may have been unfound rumors, but it's clear Michael had exceptional basketball talent that went begging because of personal issues.
I've read here that he shows up at Hoya games from time to time. I hope his life's together today -- or at least he's in a good space. His brief time with the team was pure joy for me. I wish him well.

I wish him well. Yeah, the Zen master said it. It is in his book Sacred Hoops. I think the Graham situation shows you what kind of person and stand-up coach JT2 was/is. About 99.9% of coaches would have kept a person of Graham's caliber on their team in spite of Graham's "personal issues".
