If you were to play Qudus and Tim together, who else would you play in the line-up to get the best spacing?

Jalen, Juggy and Morko... If Berger could run the point I would put him in but you need at least 1 true ballhandler...

I'd definitely play Aminu with them,
Or am I getting ahead of myself?

They can't play together. You cannot play 2 slow footed centers together who also occupy the same parts of the floor.

All I know is that they are battling hard against one another everyday in practice. Hard!! Somewhere it was reported the coaches think Q is the best big man in the conference. Assume that an opponent has a big man who can match up with Q, will they also have a back-up who can match up with Tim? I would wager the over on expectations for Tim this season.

Blueandgray, you holding out info? LOL! What is happening with Qudus? Is he shooting jumpers, and 3s?
And what about Malcolm, nothing?

If Sleepy, AI, and Wingate were the 1/2/3, that lineup would be great.

The Towers will need to make an appearance this season. You play the hand you are dealt. JT2 used the occasional “junk” defense so maybe a diamond & 2 zone for a few minutes? Tim & Q on the low blocks with Pickett at the top & Blair & other Guard playing man on the perimeter threats..

This is college not the pros, of course they can play together. Put them out there with Marko or Sibley or Bile and you D-Up zone and you got some serious coverage defensively and add Carey or Kobe Clark to that zone....
Defensive rebounding, rim protection, intimidation are some of the 'pros' with the 'Twin Towers' and it can be purely situational. End of Half/Game, if we have games we're we are getting beat up on the boards... Hoya tradition, Ewing/Dalton, Mourning/Mutombo.... Wahab/Ighoefe.

I would like to see this lineup for short periods at strategic times. GO TOWERS GO HOYAS!

Hate to be a naysayer but unless either has improved their outside shot, I think a twin towers lineup makes the team less effective on offense. On defense I would rather see a quicker lineup and have the luxury of 10 fouls at the post position.

If Pat didn't use it last year -- with only 7 rotation guys, 1 forward (JP), a more dynamic offensive center in Omer, and a capable 2nd center in Q (obv after the UT game) -- why would he entertain it this year? He played Georgie M instead of playing two centers.
It's a bad play. It gets you a shade more rebounding and interior defense at the expense of EVERY other facet of the game.
When you have Mourning & Mutombo... and Brian Kelly as your option at the 4... you play twin towers. Other than that, it really shouldn't be considered for more than a few special possessions in any given year.

In at least four Big East games he had Wahab on the court at the same time with Yurtseven. This includes the first BE game of the season at Providence when the team was getting butchered and Ewing sent Wahab on the floor to help Yurt.

If Morko is indeed 6'10" does that qualify as a college Twin Tower? I would much rather see a lineup of Jalen, Juggy, Sibley, Morko and Q/Tim.....

I do not think it should be a primary lineup, but I would love to see it used in certain situations. Timmy moves pretty darn well around the perimeter- remember him stealing that out-of-bounds pass against Butler?- and I think against the right opponents, it could give them fits for short periods and/or cause them to substitute to react to our defense, which would be a good thing.

In any event, we have a lot of height and should use it to our advantage. Use the tools you have in your toolbox!

They were literally on the floor together at points. For no more than 10 minutes the entire year. It didn't exist as a lineup that was a normal part of the rotation. That's what we're talking about here, right?
