No doubt Mac had some really impressive dunks in high school and on his highlight videos, but he always seemed or need to time his steps and gather himself for his really impressive dunks. Riley seems to be able to jump with much less effort and preparation, which should translate into using that physical skill more in games. For all of Mac's highlight reel dunks he really never dunked much in college, except on uncontested breakaways.

It didn't look like that. He jumps from outside the lane and his head is at the rim on a eastbay

Don't forget that Jordan is listed at 6'5" while Mac is listed at 6'2". Mac looked to be around 6ft while I believe Jordan is a legit 6'4"-6'5"...

Yeah you know those huge backboards that are the width of the lane are so prevelant that you can take off on a two foot jump so easy on. So it's easy that his teammates reaction shows they could all do it also.🙄

Hearing that Riley may just be the hardest worker on the team. First one in …last one out type of guy. Going to be very hard to keep this kid off the floor.

Combine that work ethic and his athleticism, and he could be amazing. I just hope he decides to play defense like Dante with fundamentals and not like Mac and AI with athleticism and jumping passing lanes.

I think we’ll see Pat’s best defensive team.

I think we’ll see Pat’s best defensive team. In the highlights I have seen, I have seen both high energy defending as well as sloughing off and waiting to jump passes from Riley. Even Iverson who won conference defensive player of the year later acknowledged he wasn’t playing great defense…simply using his athleticism.

I really like this group with their character and their abilities, I also believe Riley is self aware enough to realize that he won’t get to the next level by lane jumping and leaving his teammates out to dry because coming from a public school group he will have one of if not the biggest competition jump and I think he will take it in stride to get better. Dante’s leadership should be the example and everyone should follow his way of not giving a damn about size or speed but just playing it right as a unit and doing your best to not let anything easy

Jordan Riley Beast Mode.
We should have two of the best wings in the nation this year. When was the last time we had even one of the best wings in the nation.

We should have two of the best wings in the nation this year. While I'm as optimistic as the next guy, statements like this are crazy about guys who have played 0 seconds of college ball. I still remember reports of LJ Peak's summer before his Freshman year, where we were essentially told "enjoy him while he's here, because he won't be here long". Peak had a very good career before leaving after 3 years, but nothing ever approaching what we heard at first, and I consider Peak and Riley to be comparable at least high level in terms of current skillset and background.

Otto and Greg W had some nice potential together. They were great but didn't have the off the charts athleticism that these too have. And both Otto and Greg, I dunno if I even consider them wings because they were power forward/small forwards. I don't consider either one shooting guards. Greg could defend shooting guards but offensively wasn't a shooting guard. Wing to me is someone who can play both shooting guard and small forward.

Really it just depends how good an analyst you are. Peak wasn't a McDonald's All American, like Aminu. Peak's problem was consistency, especially with his outside shot. Riley is much more athletic, that's already easy to see. Outside shot at the NCAA level is a question mark till he actually suits up but from what I see it will be more consistent than peak.

Riley is much more athletic, that's already easy to see. Only with the benefit of hindsight maybe. Every single high school scouting report on Peak would call him an superior/elite athlete who is a pure scorer.

We will have to wait and see, but even if you look at the experts and people in the know on here, they have all been saying Riley is special for the last couple month based on what we see in videos and what we are hearing from the inside.
