That's what I thought a couple years ago when we played a St. John's team with nobody left after their scandal. And we all know how that turned out...
Before everyone bites my head off, I will point out that this current team has much more/better leadership and coaching and a meltdown against an opponent that is down and out is much less likely in my opinion.
However, we cannot afford to take any opponent lightly at this point in the year - anything can happen between now and our game against the ducks.
In addition, some teams use these types of events as motivation, and can turn things around quite quickly.
I still think this occurance (if true) will help our chances in stealing a victory on the road from a good Pac-10 opponent.

Much ado about nothing it appears: "EUGENE – University of Oregon Athletic Director Bill Moos announced on Thursday he has exercised the rollover option in the contract of men’s basketball coach Ernie Kent, extending the contract through 2010." ;D oregon.scout.com/2/395733.html

;D ;D Greetings from the West .... closer to the source of those rumors which probably had some "substance" ... Big question was whether "l'affaire Chambers" had upset Phil Knight/NIKE enough that they were threatening to withdraw $$$$ from UO pending installation of a new coach. mb11.scout.com/fbroreadersfrm1.showMessage?topicID=13200.topicErnie has now learned that his UO-issued cell phone is probably NOT a first-choice option for communications when he's supposed to be in SoCal recruiting, but is actually in Puerto Vallarta at the media mogul family's villa with their offspring "la Liz" ... those roaming charges showing up on the bill that the AD gets are kind of hard to explain. ;D ;D This whole episode had fans of several programs in the NW rather "nervous" ... as UO appeared to be engaged in some chats on the down-low with an eye toward "maybe" replacing Ernie. Instead, they've decided to stick with EK and let him work through his libido-related "personal problems" ....... His ability to continue to pitch UO bb as a "family values" program to recruits' parents is a

Phil Knight/NIKE (and other track alumni - Alberto Salazar?) managed to get Coach Smith to resign as track and field coach at UO. They finally landed the ex-coach of Stanford, who left that job as AD of Oberlin. Are you really out west, HoyaLawya?

Yes, watch out for the Pilots this year. Now that would make a nice matchup for the Hoyas. Get some exposure in the NW.
