Hey guys....remember me? I've been getting all this stuff all set for school in the fall, and I've been swamped. All that matters is that I'm ready for this year's season and a bid to dance. I'm also excited that we'll be playing Michigan. I've grown up 10 minutes from ann arbor and had the "pleasure" of watching the wolverines in numerous sporting events. Rest assured guys, while the game in Ann Arbor will be tough... I'm very confident that the Hoyas will get a victory. Wolverine play is sloppy and amaker isn't really turning things around as fast as everyone thought he would. BUT! the important things.... I got a flyer in my NSO packet that gave me the chance to buy season tickets for the Men's Basketball games. My question is....Should I do it this way? is this the best way to get them so I have them in advance??? Lemme know your thoughts. I'm aware that the Duke game will sell out, so maybe it would be good to have them...i dunno. thanks a lot.

Yes, this is the best way - Freshmen actually get first crack at the student ticket (although I don't think the school limits the number of student tickets sold) because you guys get them in those NSO packets. Its a lot of fun and also helped me make friends and gave my floor something to do together freshman year - I highly recommend getting them this way. Also, just curious - does the class of 2009 know who their Orientation Advisors (OAs) are?

So, another question...Will my ticket have a seat number that i HAVE To sit in??? please say no... I don't know if we have our OA's yet. Someone said they were a peer adviser....but not Orientation adviser...maybe it's the same thing.

No, student tickets are general admission for the student section and it is first come first served and lines do form early.

Hey Caddy, good to hear from you. Definitely order your seasdn tickets right away. There is no difference between season student tickets so you might as well get them right away rather than waiting.
The entire student section is general admission and as long as you are one of the first people to get to MCI you can sit anywhere you want in the student section, thats how I've watched every single home game over the past 2 years from the front row.

Over the years, people have pointed out that placing your ticket order via the NSO packet is a good way to "allow" your parents to pay for the tickets.

Or demanding it at Christmas for those of you who are non-freshman types.

Where do upperclassmen get season tickets? McDonough box office? I ordered mine from the NSO packet last year, and will need some for this year.

I believe the McDonough ticket office if you go to the left after you go through the main doors of the arena its a set of glass doors on the left of the hall.

Definitly get the season tickets... Last summer when I got the order form in the NSO packet, my dad talked me out of getting season tickets... He convinced me that student section tickets wouldn't sell out, and I might not want to or be able to go to some of the games, so I should just pick them up on a per game basis. It turned out to be a bad move though, because its definitly a hassle to have to make sure you get the tickets before each game. Most of my friends already had season tickets and it was a hell of a lot easier, and also cheaper I believe.
I definitly suggest getting the student section tickets for the sake of convenience if nothing else. If youre on Hoyatalk before youve even started at Georgetown, you're clearly a diehard, so it just makes sense.

It is definitely cheaper to get the season tickets - i think on a per game basis the tickets are $8 and for a package of season tickets its something like $75. It is also a hassle to get the tickets before the game - and if you can't make it to a game you can always sell (or give if you're generous) your ticket to another student.

Last year, the season tickets were $85, but that included a guaranteed We are Georgetown t-shirt, which is well worth the extra $10. In all honesty, if you take the time to post on this chat board, you're going to hit 10 games. Trust me (and RBHoya).
[Some of the games last year did sell out of student tickets, and I expect that many will do that this year. I'd go ahead and get the guaranteed tickets.]
Out of curiousity, how much are this year's season tickets costing?

Georgetown doesn't lower the price of anything once it goes up - $85, i'm sure.

Yeah, we'll definitely be selling season tickets all around campus this year, so it should be more convenient for returning students to get them and we'll also be able to get the freshmen who didnt order them right away.

007 is what's on the T-shirt a secret? I think it is. Good job not giving it away with your signature line.

Well if you were like all the other cool kids who had turned the signature viewing option off, you wouldn't have known either.
