Massive game - maybe the most important of the year.

This is an absolute must-win. We can not afford to lay an egg here

The team has to win at a minimum 2/3 remaining home games (PC, Xavier, Nova). On paper this should be the most gettable, but it won’t be easy. PC can’t shoot as well as they did in the opener can they?

Hopefully Provy is reading the title of this thread and will show up 10 days late for the game!😉

PC wins after almost an epic collapse.
Hurts our chances to catch them for the 6th spot. Hopefully the team won’t be taking them lightly after seeing them beat SHU.

This team may take other teams lightly? Go figure.

I actually like playing Providence after their big win against Seton Hall. Sets up nicely for us, especially if we can get Omer back.
I’m not focused on catching people in the standings as much as scratching out that 8-10 league record. The next 2 games are huge for our chances. We’d be sitting very pretty at 7-7 in the league no matter who is above or below us. Our SOS is so high, the placement in conference is not that relevant.

Agree but it is always nice to finish above others

I agree with your first point that it’s huge that providence is also coming off a big time win. I disagree with your second part that we’re you finish in the standing doesn’t matter. It seems like the committee values where you finish and total losses way too much when deciding.

Have to continue to play hard. You can't let up against this Providence team. They are talented and they fight. They have won big road games and if the HHoyas come out soft or slow, they will pay. That being said, I think this is a solid spot for the Hoyas, assuming Yurt and/or Mac play. New bodies to help for the rest and this could be a look ahead/let down spot for this Providence team. Did everything possible to beat Seton Hall and play Marquette after this one. As long as the Hoyas come out strong, they can take this one.

Not sure a Wednesday win against St. John:s or DePaul would help the resume I think 20 wins look alot better than 19 when on The bubble I think if we are 8-10 (and the wins are all Q2 wins against PC, DePaul, and Xavier) the Wednesday game might be our own play-in game. A loss against say St Johns or DePaul will not be the lasting impression you want to leave the committee with and leave us at 18-14.
