Not sure where the remaining wins are coming. I think at best we go 2-2 against DePaul (x2), PC, and SJ. Maybe one other surprise along the way. 5-13 again looks likely. Situation aside, that’s not cutting it in Year 3 (with Year 4 looking no better). I want Ewing to succeed, but it’s beginning to get harder to justify the results. It's not a great look, to be sure. That said, I think we need to get through the season and see where we are. The team is still playing hard. They haven't quit. Wahab seems to be improving. There are a lot of issues with the program right now, but I want to see the final result before looking ahead. That said, the recruiting and transfer situations have left next year looking rather bleak.

Morko? WTF bro? If you just don’t completely, utterly suck to the moon and back, GU wins.
Only thing worse than Pat and officials tonight was Mr. Pickett. Literally should quit the game.

Wahab is clearly one of the most talented players on the team. Why would we not go zone with both Yurt and Wahab on the floor? Especially when Pickett is playing like this... The play we ran zone was one of the few stops we got down the stretch. We immediately go back to man to man and give up 2 baskets.

If for whatever reason it does not look like it is going to work out, we have to start throwing out feelers to Shaka’s camp behind the scenes. I fear that may be our only way to get out of what appears to be a one way ticket to complete irrelevance for this program.

You really can’t overlook the lack of a legitimate scoring threat from Pickett. This has really killed us I think more than anything. That’s how we just got hurt. 3’s from McDermott. Jamorko is supposed to be that guy. He just isn’t capable of really getting hot. Might hit an odd three here and there but he has really hurt us. If he could provide any reliable support it would really take the pressure off and we’d be forcing less. It’s similar to the Lubick 4 v 5 on offense days.

He’s currently laying an absolute egg at Texas and Ewing beat him head to head.

We fired our last coach for missing the tournament 3 of 4 years and you want to hire some guy who didn't want our job the last time and is going to miss the tournament 3 of the last 4 years?

A season recap in a single quote Incredible! Part of the blame goes to Pickett, Mosely and Mac for trying to cover the middle when Omer was 27 ft from the basket on the McD 3's, but really the blame goes to Pat who keeps doing the insanity thing. He has not shown he can adjust. Another game of Pat being outcoached by better BE coaches...

I'm completely disgusted...winners find a way to win and losers find a way to lose...came out in the second half and were outscored 22-6...left the same 3 pt shooter open from the same spot over and over...where the hell is the bball IQ with some of these guys/coaches...if I go any further I'm going to start calling certain guys names so I'll stop...likely this team will lose to a much more energized St J's team...

I am surprised our poor clock management at the end of the game isn’t getting more attention. We were down 67-64, the shot clock was 38 and Allen fouls? This is unacceptable. 8 seconds is more than enough to get a shot up, plus Butler isn’t going to wait to 8 seconds to shoot.
If it’s 67-64, and you get a stop, you get a chance to shoot a 3 to tie.
If it’s 67-64 and you foul, unless you get massively lucky and the other guy misses both, then it’s 69-64 or 68-64 and you then need to score twice, still rushing a shot, to catch up.
I realize this is only one small aspect of the game, but it falls on coaching, and Ewing failed. Unless Allen went rogue.

I hate to break it to anyone but Ewing is here through next year and most likely through Year 5. It would take a 1-17 type of BE season next year for the administration to pull the cord, especially before Mac’s senior season.

And it appeared definitely directed from the sideline.

He's worst than JT3. He has not shown he can adjust. Another game of Pat being outcoached by better BE coaches... The real issue for me is the opposing coach doesn’t even have to be very good. Turn on the film and it’s obvious you can easily get the entire defense to suck in. The over helping hasn’t changed and it’s been a problem for 3 years now so they’re clearly being taught this.

No, it just takes public pressure and student protests and a blog going negative. Saw that last time. I don't think the record, whether 5-13 or 1-17 makes that much of a difference.

What if they would have scored and with our defense they probably would have, then your down 5 with under 10 seconds left

I am done defending Ewing...
I believe every college coach deserves 4 years. That allows a full cycle of the players they may inherited as well as 4 recruiting cycles to bring in "your" type of players.
Not calling for the coaches head yet but he has shown ZERO ability to adjust so I have ZERO faith year 4 is going to be any better.
I am no longer surprised that no one in the NBA gave him a chance to coach and it took 15 years to finally land a head coaching gig.
He has a ton of passion but no clue how to coach. Yelling "rebound" 50 times a game somehow is not getting it done...

Allen also made a very lazy one handed pass to Yurt late that resulted in a critical turnover...AND he failed to switch off onto McDermott when Moseley clearly called/pointed for him to switch and thus the final game deciding 3 from an open McD...these kind of mistakes (stepping out of bounds on our last possession) really determine the outcome of games...I will say that Allen played pretty well otherwise...Yurt, Mac and especially Pickett killed us...
