Enough about transfers, courts etc. -- how's the food?

Worst is your classic McDonough dog. We can discuss best all you want, but you can lock up worst right there. Soggy buns, terrible taste, brings back memories of that Simpsons episode where Lisa is thinking about all the meats that go into a hot dog (rat, raccoon, eagle, old boot).

While it's not at Capital One, at Madison Square Garden, I am partial to the Daily Burger cheeseburgers. For a mass-made burger, it's pretty top notch.

Enough about transfers, courts etc. -- how's the food? With the 2 year renovation of Capital One Arena, the arena added a lot of really good food venues. Unfortunately, because of low attendance, most of those vendors are closed for Georgetown games and only the generic concessions are available.

Which are terrible so you’re better off eating somewhere outside of the arena before/after the game. I’ll get my kids a popcorn/pretzel to snack on, but that’s about it. Plus you never know when the Ledge is going to have food or not and what they are serving that game so I do not take that gamble...

For those looking for food before the game that haven't visited DC recently, here are some good options near the arena: Quick Bites Taco Bamba - Elevated tacos Chaia Tacos - Vegetarian tacos Little Sesame - Hummus bowls Wiseguy Pizza - New York style slices Shouk - Middle Eastern vegan Baked Joint - Bakery/coffee shop &pizza - Individual pizzas Casual Sit Down Bantam King - Chicken based ramen Daikaya - Traditional ramen Bar Deco - Bar food and tacos featuring smoked meats Carving Room - Sandwiches and burgers Present Company - Elevated pub food Piccolina - Italian over the counter (one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had) Busboys and Poets - Global cuisine Momiji - Japanese/sushi

Generic concessions are busted and you can expect long lines and little service. It is the double kick in the nads to playing at Cap One. There is a Ben's near section 100 that hasn't been open this year. There is a fry place around the bend that hasn't been open all year. There used to be a chicka filla keosk behind the student section but I haven't seen that open this year. All in all the new scoreboard, seats and lighting get a big thumbs up and the rest of it gets the middle finger.

Present Company and Bar Deco look pretty good though, will have to try them out

Not looking to hijack this thread back to the days of McDonough, but I don't remember a whole lot about the food in those days. Of course, we did have a full bar at McDonough when I was an undergraduate, and I recall drinking many a Tequila Sunrise while watching the Hoyas play Stonehill and St. Leo.

I love Nando’s but it’s been around for 10+ years so I figured most people would know about it by now.
