Here's how it's gone for as long as my narrative carries itself. The Hoyas stink one game, then everyone comes out and says that they suck and are screwed and Ewing this... Akinjo that... etc then they come out and somehow win. I very much remember that Marquette game or the Nova game and it made no sense (last year). So... maybe this is one of those. It just seems to fit after a "hoya4ever" has decided to quit. This is the weirdest Hoya bounceback spot that it may just work. But LeBlanc will need some PT. Also note, this same narrative works where they play really well (NYC) then stink (UNCG). So... take it as you will. I could be making this up. When did hoya4ever quit? I thought it was just jctnhoya4ever. FWIW, hoya4ever is still an registered poster but has not posted since Apr 30, 2015. - AdminI haven't been here that long, so I didn't know that was a person... Also, I meant "a 'Hoya4ever'" in that his name implied he was a Hoya for life, and not one to quit. Also, not the hoya4ever, but a so-called, self-proclaimed hoya4ever. My bad on that. But, not to get too far off topic, this Oklahoma State team is ranked 30th by votes received by the latest AP poll, though these don't matter much at all at this point. Also, something to note, Texas fell all the way out of the poll, so these voters really might not respect the Hoyas. Added motivation to my original theory, against a team that is the NIT preseason champion. I mean the players should be motivated for every game and someone who 100% always is in Josh LeBlanc needs to play. Again, he's a better matchup for someone like Cameron McGriff or Lindy Waters, who should step up, as he can guard both on the perimeter and inside and won't require a double team if they go onto the block, unlike Stevens on a guard. That would put the length of Pickett on another shooter to disrupt some flow in their offense. McGriff is more interior and doesn't take too many threes (16.7% on 2 .57 attempts per game) and letting him go on a smaller player and helping leaves good shooters in Dziagwa (38% on 7.1 attempts per game, down from 42.5% from last year) or Waters (38.5% on 3.74 attempts per game, down from 44.8% last year) open. If Dziagwa gets hot, this game is over. You can't leave him ever. If Mosely is to guard a bigger player and the Hoyas want to double down off of them after a few buckets (like McGriff) you give Dziagwa an opportunity to get hot and run the risk of losing the game. LeBlanc should play more and matchup with these guys, plus you give additional energy and aggressiveness which is needed in a big road game.

Also to note on ESPN+, although I don't have ESPN+, I've streamed games on ESPN3 and the play by play is actually faster, so if you want to actually watch the game, don't look at it, in case it's faster. I can't find anything for the DC area on TV, though it's going to be easier to search for tomorrow. If anyone else could find anything, it would be great.

Unless you find an illegal stream, it's only ESPN+. It's not playing on conventional TV. ESPN+ or bust.

It is hard to imagine this game being worse than the last time we played OSU, so there is that.

I'm assuming ESPN+ can't be watched on a TV, just some sort of internet option? I'm technically unsavvy. Anybody who knows, please let me know. Thanks You can watch it on your TV if you have a streaming device (Roku, Fire Stick, Apple TV, XBox, etc.) attached. Roku has an ESPN+ "channel" if you have a subscription. FWIW, Disney+ is currently offering a discounted bundle of Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99/month. Especially if you have little ones at home or are interested in Marvel/Star Wars, it may be worth it for you.

WINNERS
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 7–0 for the first time since 2014–15 after beating Syracuse and Ole Miss at the Barclays Center. Oklahoma State dismantled the Rebels in a 78–37 win, holding them to 36.8% on twos and a 1-for-20 mark from three. It’s the kind of win that should garner attention for a team that’s looking like it could make real noise in the Big 12. Sophomore big man Yor Anei shined in Brooklyn, and Isaac Likekele was stellar against the Orange, scoring 26 with eight assists and five steals.

Sophomore big man Yor Anei shined in Brooklyn, and Isaac Likekele was stellar against the Orange, scoring 26 with eight assists and five steals. Likekele will kill us if we don't play well. He's very good - big, physical, aggressive, with a solid skill level. He also plays with great energy, providing strong emotional leadership. He was ranked around #150/ 3 stars in high school. His best serious offer by far seems to have been OK State. Central Michigan and Fresno State were the next tier of schools on his final list - I think he may have originally committed to Fresno. There are really good players out there who are not even top 100 guys. If you have not seen him play - he is exactly the kind of kid we would all love to have at PG. Akinjo is good, but Lkekele has at least 4 inches and 30 lbs. on him, while also being plenty skilled and athletic. His main flaw is that he seems to be a below average outside shooter. But his size/strength allows him to finish well around the rim. Plus he averages about 3 steals a game, and only about 2 turnovers and 2 fouls a game. He is very fun to watch - well, when he is not beating your team he is fun to watch! I'm not sure how much "fun" we'll have watching him on Wednesday night.

When did hoya4ever quit? I thought it was just jctnhoya4ever. FWIW, hoya4ever is still an registered poster but has not posted since Apr 30, 2015. - Admin Admin I think he was probably referring to Hoyas4Ever (who is still posting, but I was also getting confused at first when people were talking about jctnhoya4ever as "a hoya4ever").

So, I guess Mac, Jagan, Jamorko, Galen, and Yurt?
With Allen now backing up Mac, Blair backing up Jagan, and Gardner backing up the forwards?

This changes everything. Allen, Mac, Galen, and Jamorko have to step it up for this one. Play hard and see what you can do. Play as a team. Can't overreact as it's their first game without those two, but these specifically Galen and Allen have to show up. They were supposed to be big players in the offseason, it's time to live to that.

I referred to him as "a hoya4ever" because I thought it was funny that someone with that name would decide to quit on such short notice. I should've been more clear. I mentioned this in the post up top, but I probably should've made two separate posts in hindsight. That's on me.

I'm thinking Allen, Mac, Jamorko, Jagan and Yurt with Alexander also playing starter minutes. Blair has a similar role with more PT, as does Gardner. Both have to be more efficient, and will have to score more. Galen will have the ball much more, so his minutes will be more noticeable. I still think for this game that Galen should start over ether Allen or Mosely, but I don''t think Ewing changes that much so quick.

Still can't have the only half-court offense be to give the ball to Yurt. That would cause the same problem with less talent. Has to be involving everyone. Mainly though Yurt, Mac, Pickett, and Galen. Those are the guys. At least, those are who I think are the guys.

I am reeling. I can’t imagine what the team is going through. James and Josh were two of the stronger leaders on the team. It will be interesting to follow how the situations will be resolved.

Compete. Limit turnovers...it doesnt matter who's on the team...THAT has to improve. Curious how the players on the roster will develop now. Its clearly mac, pickett and the yurt7 show. Lets see how this shakes out.
