Amazes me how disciplined and controlled Nova is up until they get pressed and then they look completely lost. But watching them, Butler, and Seton Hall play reminds me of 1985. I really think 3 BE teams could make the final four this year. Sadly we won't be one of them. More sadly, I really think the only way for us to avenge the '85 loss to Nova would be for us to beat them in a National Championship game.

We'll see if a Georgetown game can correct/cure this.

I don’t buy it as an upset either. To me Seton Hall is the class of the BE this year, and frankly I think they are one of the most complete teams in the country that I’ve seen this year.

We are going to have to feast on those bottom four teams. Need five wins in the remaining six games against those teams IMHO.

Agree with this but think 5/6 might be a lot to expect. 4/6 is a more realistic outcome in my opinion. I look at our 13 games left - 7 at home and 6 on the road. Home: MU, SHU, XU, PC, Nova, DePaul, Butler We need to win 4 of those games (likely DePaul, PC, St Johns, and one of Xavier or Marquette. Road: SJ, XU, Butler, Creighton, DePaul, MU We need to win 3 of those; good thing is we played 3/4 best teams (PC by record at least) on the road. Most likely is DePaul, SJ, and XU. That being said I don’t think sweeping any team will be easy and this contemplates us sweeping 3 teams. Road:

There does seem to be some tiers forming, this may be a little early but:
League champ race: Seton Hall, Butler, Villanova Middle of the league: Gtown, Providence, Creighton, Marquette, Xavier Bottom: St. Johns, Depaul
Providence fans quick to note their 4-1 start might be in for a rude awakening. Next 4: @ Creighton /@ Hall / vs. Nova / @ Butler. I think they're staring at 4-5 before you know it. There's also probably room for the whole middle of the league to make it into dance (except Prov from non-con). 7 is the league target I'd think
I was tempted to put Xavier in the bottom but resisted. They now have a full week of rest before playing us at home. That's a bad time to catch a desperate team at 1-4. They probably had the 2nd worst non-con (behind Prov). All the games against the middle will matter, but Marquette game carries some extra importance because they're a very good home team / bad road team and we're staring at a tough spot right after.

It's going to be a dogfight among the bottom 6. To me it's simple. Hope none of the bottom 6 beat the top 4 and hope we sweep at least 3 of the bottom 6 and split with the rest. Makes us 9-9 in BE and 19-12. Finish 5th or 6th and make the NCAA tourney. Keeping home court serve is essential.

9-9 is our ceiling in my mind. I hope I’m wrong. I love this team, though.

Man, it’s going to be tough. Literally no gimmes at all. Could win or lose any of the remaining conference games.
That said, holding serve at home against both Creighton and Marquette this week would demonstrate that 9-9 is a very realistic outcome for this team.
Long way from here to there though.
Lets beat Quette, get/stay healthy, and we can all feel good about our trajectory heading into the teeth of conference play.

9-9 is our ceiling in my mind. I hope I’m wrong. I love this team, though. I feel the same way. I have a hard time imagining us sweeping three teams in this league, especially with a loss to Providence already. But I'm not going to let that pessimism ruin my enjoyment of this season.

Looking at Morrow's stats for this year, his game seems off from what is was the last couple years. I hope all is well with him.

Interesting, DePaul must have a late starting semester.
