Your 3 & 4, ladies and gents. GA doesn’t look any shorter than Josh. Maybe if GU ever updated the roster we could find out what their current “measurements” were

My post was made w/ no knowledge obviously, but i wouldn't be surprised to see any of Galen, Jamorko, Jagan, Allen, Gardner, or Blair in that last spot. Maybe in that order if i had to put odds on it.

I believe Pickett started in the Bahamas. I don't recall exactly but I'll take your word. But even if that meant something, Jagan didn't play and Galen, Allen, and Gardner hadn't yet played a mildly meaningful minute as a Hoya.

And Pickett looked much better in the Bahamas too. I expect positive contributions from Alexander and PIckett is prone to losing confidence at times, but I would not give Pickett’s starting position away yet.

We may see a 3- guard lineup during the course of games. I hope we are pressing more this year. I hope Jamorko has turned the corner and plays with greater confidence, he has an abundance of talent. And there seems to be a lot of talent on this squad. They will have to prove themselves.

I'm more so upset that his best case scenario has us losing to Duke, going 13-5 in conference play, and only making the sweet 16. CBB is run by guards and we have some great ones to go with both bruisers and skill down low. Best case scenario is most undoubtedly better.
That said, I'll take that "most likely" scenario.

The Hoyas 247 write up is a solid one. In thinking of best/worse case scenarios, I think the commentary is mostly on point. I hope we get a good lineup that gels quickly. I do think that in the last few years, Ewing has been a little slow to tinker with lineups even when they aren't working that well (for example, his reliance on Mourning for most of the OOC, even after it was clear that LeBlanc was better), and I really don't think we can afford to do that if something isn't working this year given that we have very competitive OOC games quickly.
I really think the defense point is the most important. Without improvement across the board on defense (and not just the additional of Alexander/Allen), that "best case" scenario is a pipe dream. And even the more rational "most likely" scenario might be tough to achieve.

The team also needs to be much better in transition this season especially if playing fast is what the staff wants... last season the team scored 492 points in 508 possessions, that's not good at all... Wow, I actually did not realize it was that bad. That needs to improve substantially. Thanks for sharing. This actually raises a great point about our "pace." The transition possessions are those where we are likely pushing the tempo and moving the fastest, yet our offense was incredibly inefficient. It lends credence to my thought that sometimes we would be better off slowing it up and getting a better shot. There's nothing wrong with a fast tempo, but we should not go fast for the sake of going fast if it means we chuck up a bad shot.

“After going 9-9 in Big East play last season, the team barely improves on that record, finishing the season 19-12 overall, and 10-8 in conference play. The frustrations of the fan base reach a boiling point after dropping a late February road game to an overachieving DePaul team. The team finishes in the bottom third of the conference, and bows out in the first round of the Big East Tournament.” 10-8 is not the bottom third.

Also, a 10-8 finish is DEFINTELY not a worst-case outcome. Perhaps the author inverted the numbers and meant 8-10, which would be a step backward and I think disappointing for everyone.

65. James Akinjo, Georgetown: He's about 10 spots too low for my tastes here, but I'm glad Georgetown's got a guard back in the mix for one of the best in the Big East. Akinjo (13.4 ppg, 5.2 apg) is not an elite point guard, but it's his daringness and his unpredictability between shooting and driving that make him an ideally fun college basketball backcourt dynamo. —
74. Omer Yurtseven, Georgetown: Before transferring to Georgetown, Yurtseven averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds in 23.8 minutes per game two seasons ago at NC State. He sat out last season per normal NCAA transfer rules but is eligible now and expected to be a key member of a Georgetown team that should make the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Patrick Ewing. — GP

I just hope we stay injury free. We should compete with anyone then.
