Blair is the one player who can come off the bench and reliably stroke it. His misses typically look good.

I just took the comment as meaning that Blair is streaky. I'd take 50% from 3 as well, but if he is 0-5 in Game 1 and 5-5 in Game 2, it would be fair to call him 'hit or miss' and wonder what you are getting when you insert him in Game 3. Of course, my example is extreme and didn't happen, but that is what I think the author meant. hm Edit: before Etomic @'s me with Blair's game logs from the Bahamas, I'm not saying I agree with the author but I do think that is his take. (hm) LOL, you know me too well HM... Blair went 4-8, 5-9 & 3-6 in the 3 games... Your take is fair for you & most fans but not for a guy who covers the team and is writing an article about the exhibition games... I read the write up and just decided not to reply as I pretty much know what to expect from this person's opinion. The Pickett write up was more of the same with the inability to praise without a dig. Nothing on Blair's performance from Bahamas should have led to that when we completely ignore the 3 pt shooting of others on the roster. This was supposed to be about Bahamas and not the last couple years of perceptions.

There are two things about Blair that are evident: after his diminished role last year, he had reason to wonder about his future at GU, yet #1 he clearly believes in himself and #2 he believes in his coach. This kid will be the surprise of the season. He knows what he needs to do to get minutes and he is clearly doing it. He is a gunner for sure, but he is becoming a player...

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the confidence with which both Blair and Pickett shot the ball, acknowledging it was just exhibition games. We might have more shooting weapons than I was originally counting on, and Alexander and Gardner both looked good, too.

We are eligible for Maui again in 2020 (once every 4 years), but it looks like Providence is already in that field. Hopefully we get to Maui sooner rather than later, it's the best pre-season tournament. That said, we do need to find one to slot in for 2020 with a decent field.

My guess would be either the Wooden Legacy in Anaheim, the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational, or the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City.
Other possibilities are the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu or the MGM Resorts Main Event in Las Vegas.
Unless we're talking about a showcase game, and there's a bunch of those out there that are possibilities.

I hear the Las Vegas Invitational is a strong possibility. It's a tournament that is tied to Fox Sports/FS1 and since the networks partnership with the new & improved BIG EAST, a member of the conference has participated in this tournament.
The John Wooden Legacy could also be a possibly. This early season event has had a member of the new & improved BIG EAST every year except 2016 & 2017. Seton Hall won the event last season and Providence is set to compete this season.
Either events would be good opportunities for the Georgetown program to compete in as they are located in areas of the country Coach Ewing & the staff have been spending time trying to develop recruiting pipelines. Big Coach Thompson Jr. had developed strong recruiting ties on the west coast and played games out there when possible. Akinjo's success is an opportunity to expand on and open up the recruiting market & brand on the west coast. A really good season including a deep NCAA tournament run followed by competing in games on the west coast could reestablish that pipeline...

Is there anything close to Akinjo's hometown? Opening this fall: the Chase Center. Georgetown hasn't been back to The City in 48 years--a game vs. Cal would be a showcase.

That was the only city on the left coast he had any true interest in.
