Update on Hurricane Dorian and Bahamas
Guys, the storm is right now sitting over the most northern island in the Bahamas, Grand Bahama. Reports of island-wide flooding. Also, there are reports of casualties. Power has been restored to parts of Nassau.
Abaco island has suffered massive homes and property damages.
Please continue to pray for the people of the Bahamas, especially those living on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama. Long road to recovery, it would seem.

Yeah we all need to keep the Bahamas islands in our prayers. Reports around noon were that Dorian had stalled over the main part of the island. That was 3-4hrs ago.....Newport News had massive flood and loss of power for 2wks when Isabel came through....Isabel was a tropical storm when it reached NN if I remember correctly...

How is your niece? Still praying for her and the islanders. Thanks for asking. I had to take off a couple of days because we were gravely concerned for her safety. The government had put her up in a hotel. However, like many of the “shelters”, the hotel sustained extensive damage. All communication was lost from Sunday Tuesday. Late Tuesday afternoon we got word that she was still hunkered down in the same hotel. Just yesterday she was airlifted to Nassau. She texted me this morning. Said she has lots of harrowing stories to tell. We are all just thankful to God. Our concern now is for family members in Freeport, Grand Bahama. I was born and grew up in the Bahamas. This storm was not like any storm I have experienced. Totally a freak storm! Keep the Bahamas on your prayers, please. Will be a long road to recovery.

Wow! Brings tears to my eyes! Such a sense of moral and social responsibility! We are also starting a clothing drive at my school tomorrow. By the way, the Hoyas are onto something. People that I have spoken to say that clothing is the most needed items right now.

Hoya Fandom and Friends of the Bahamas:
Please check out my book, "From the Puddle to the Pond: My Life's Journey in the Bahamas and America" by Bertram Smith, on Amazon. It's about my journey, thus far, spanning two countries I call home--the Bahamas and the United States.
By the way, we have collected over 50 boxes of clothing at my school for hurricane victims in the Bahamas. If anyone want to pick up a copy of the book on Amazon, that would be great. It would help me with shipping. Thanks!

Just wanted to bump this because I could swear the team I just watched lose to Penn State had never played together before.
