Seems like it should be Gonzaga but wouldn’t count Juwan out. Especially since it’s close to home (don’t think he chooses Minnesota).

From Gonzaga board:
Mr Vulture Mr Vulture is online now Zag for Life Join Date May 2008 Posts 2,148 Default Just got off the phone with my contact and I feel good stating Chet to Gonzaga is 100%. I was told a little more than he was good to go but I don’t think I’m at liberty to share or should. Let’s just say I’m not worried at all now, not that I was all that worried before.

If we want Chet, I hope we get him! “If we want” the No. 1 player in the class and a generational talent? WTF? Nah, we’ll pass.

PLEASE go after this great player with all you got! He is special in his skills and he will change basketball at Gtown on Day One. Nothing the other schools have: He will learn under a HOF big man AND get a world class education. Chet, we'd love to have you come to Georgetown, become part of this amazing community & tradition, and grow as a player and a person in all the best ways!

Lol...it's nice that he kept us in his top group but this thread should've been over 16 pages ago.

Is now the time when I mention that at 7 feet tall and 190 lbs that this guy better eat a couple of pizzas every day until the season starts? I'm sure he'll fill out some .. but thinking back to just the title game when Gonzaga looked physically like a JV team scrimmaging a men's team ... I'm getting some Will Baker of Texas vibes -- I recall seeing him at MSG and thinking, we were recruiting that string bean? He couldn't stay on the floor against Yurtseven. I'd be overjoyed to get this kid, but I think the physical risks are pretty clear to see.

P of D -- you're probably right, chances seem slim that he'd come here. BUT - think about it. Gonzaga is where most people think he'll land. Makes sense - consistently strong teams, Mark Few, etc. Former HS teammate Jalen Suggs has probably told him good things, and it would be a good move. However, Suggs is going pro so reuniting with an old teammate who you won championships with is out. Then you got Drew timme. He is only a sophomore. He's apparently on the fence about entering the draft. Word is that another year of skill building & experience would ramp up his value for next year. I'd bet that he's coming back, esp since he doesn't want to go out on that loss to Baylor. O.K., so he stays. If I'm Chet, I'm thinking "How many real minutes am I going to get behind Timme?" Balancing that idea, Chet has been a center but with his skills most envision him as a Kevin McHale/Kevin Durant type power forward, so maybe that's where it won't matter if Timme stays. They play together -- a scary thought. If he comes to Gtown, he'll be the centerpiece of a very promising team with potential for play well into March.
Yes, the weight is a concern, but most say that it will take care of itself as he plays at this level. If that were our only worry, I'd take him in a second. Let's go!

I actually think Suggs may come back. His press conference on whether he is going to the NBA is also today. Seems an odd thing to do as I don't think anyone else does that when declaring for the draft.

Everyone is saying Gonzaga....I sense a plot-twist. I wonder if Efton Reid's delay has anything to do with it considering Ohio state and Michigan are supposedly on his final list as well.
